Short Story: Uttara's Pov
Uttara's Pov:

I felt a tap on the left cheek disturbing my beauty sleep. Who hell is that?? I shouted at them in sleep, struggling to open my eyes. Eyeballs were constantly rolling towards left and right. This time the pat was stronger.

I sat upright in anger, rustling the bedsheet. Still, my eyes were closed. I felt a tight grip on my right arm saying "Enough of sleep."
Go start revising.

That is when I realised about exams. My toes touched the ground in seconds straight towards the restroom.

When I came back, a cup of hot coffee and water lied on the side table. I always wonder how would I survive without bhai. He has made it a habit. Without pestering the brain further I drank gulps of water and sipped coffee to refresh my sleepy

Her eyes fixed on his face. She considered him as her pride and her respect towards him grew more.

Sanskar rolled his eyes.

Note: Nowadays Sanskar is able to read her lip sync. So he can understand her words without voice too.

Swara Pov:
My father Shekar and mother Shomi both belong to the Musical background. They fell in love in college and got married soon. We were living happily. I carried their legacy. They were proud of me. Everything around us was moving normally.

Sahil a boy in my college proposed me. I denied his feelings. I apologised too. But his friends filled him with negative vibes and he tortured to love him back. I slapped him anger which insulted his male ego.

One day in the library he tried to molest me. I slapped him hard with a slipper and boarded complaint to the management. They took disciplinary action against him.

Infront of my eyes, a truck hit the car demolishing it into pieces. I stood froze. Mumma... Papa.... was the last word escaped my throat.

I sat there watching the destroyed car in front of my eyes. Numbness spread over. Just breathing. My eyes rooted to the accident spot.

People surrounded the car from a distance. Police arrived and called for an ambulance.

Ward boys tried to evacuate the mutilated body of my patents from the car. Only remains were left. No proper face nor body. Fully covered with blood and glass pieces.

A sudden gasp escaped my throat. I shouted them not to take away my parents but they did not listen to my words.

They went away. I ran behind them to stop the ambulance but failed. I fell on knees. I blacked out.

Two days later I woke up from trauma. I was in the hospital bed. I searched for my parents and it hit me hard. They passed away. I tried to speak and learnt I have lost my voice. Tears escaped my eyes. I felt broken. Pathetic. Since I did not perform the last rights for my parents.

This birth turned to be waste. I failed to protect them.

Pov ends.....

Swara cried vigorously.

Sanskar took her in his arms immediately without thinking further.

She sagged down on his shoulders. She definitely needed someone to count

The rumbling of the wagon. The clacking from the horses. A vigorous smell from the wild plants. The shivers that I get at night. I couldn’t stand it. I stood up from my two feet and began to walk towards to someone that I would know of. “Hey, Pa when are we gonna stop?” I asked. You may be wondering why my Pa isn’t sleeping at this kind of hour. Well, I can tell you why. He can’t sleep at night either.…

On the fourth day-night (after the first time I asked him) he texted me on phone and he told me do you want to know where I disappeared? “Yes, of course,” I said curiously. He told me that his sister has cancer and he was working all over the week to have enough money to pay medicine pills. I felt angry and I told him without thinking we didn't you tell I could have helped you don't you know that my family is very rich (billionaires). My family is much richer than yours. (in a voice note) then I realized my fault and I said I am sorry I didn't mean to say those words but he didn't reply and he didn't talk to me afterward...…

Two days after we fought, students were allowed to introduce themselves. I made a poster and suggested some ideas to improve our school. Like other kids, I made my slogan; you will earn Thank you if you elect Il Kyu. Of course my friends helped me. As I expected, Ben was giving out some rich treats. He gave money to any person who wanted it. His dad was some company’s CEO. Unfortunately, everyone was crowded against Ben’s poster (most likely a treat). Nobody paid any attention to others and my poster. That day, it was fail. I didn’t get to introduce me. Most of the kids…

This was one of those things. The youngsters shared a single room in the guest house in Bangalore. The next night the place on the bed beside him was empty. All of the rest were occupied by the time I was done with my toiletries. It was close to 3:00 a.m. and going to any other room wasn’t an option. Everyone was already deep asleep with the doors locked. I asked my brother to change places but in his ignorance, he ignored. I told Sayan Kundu to keep his hands to himself before sleeping. He, of course, didn’t listen. I got up and went to the bathroom. Stayed there as long as possible. Came back. Felt he was sleeping and crouched as far from him as possible. He touched me again. I got up again and went to the little store room that was attached to our room. I smoked one cigarette after another and cried. He came in a few minutes later. We had an altercation, that ended with,”Aur ekbar haath laga ke dekhiye, is bar Glenfiddich ka bottle apke sar par phodenge.” He didn’t touch me the entire night.…
