Shiloh By Phyllis Reynolds Naylor Sparknotes
The book that I would like to do for this book report is called Shiloh by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. In this book it talks about a good story about a boy willing to do anything for a dog that he loves. While with the author some things that I found interesting is that she is best known for her children and young adult stories that are in fiction. Also before she even started writing she worked as a teacher and an editor before writing full time om 1960. This is very interesting because it shows that even though she didn’t start off as a writer she still had big success onto what she wrote and so on. Other books that she has written are a whole series pretty much about a girl named alice and also other books on Shiloh as well. In the book the setting takes place in more of a southern town named Friendly, West Virginia and everybody there is just like the city’s name states friendly except for one of the main characters which his name is Judd. Also in the story it takes place during hunting season and also in the summer as well. The conditions were not the greatest but also good at the same time because mostly it all took place in warm weather. The main characters of the story would …show more content…
I would say that throughout the story the complications that Marty will face when helping Shiloh would be that he always tried to keep him safe and away from Judd as well as his parents. Also he did no matter what it took because he had formed a strong bond with Shiloh ever since they met so it would make sense that he would do anything for Shiloh. An example can be that one way Marty would hide Shiloh was he makes a home for him in an old shed up the hill from his house and that is where he stayed for much of the story. Also every time that they had dinner Marty would save food for Shiloh so he can eat and that shows how strong the bond was between the

Written in Memphis, Tennessee, Foote a native southerner like any other published author faced criticism and critique of his work, especially for focusing on the history of the war by discussing the decisions and actions of conflicts that boiled over into large blood pools on the battle field. Douglass Mitchell, Stuart Chapman, and James Cox developed complex…

We are shown this several times throughout the movie but none is more apparent than when the group is on the boat. Marty is frequently shown as above the other members of the group due to Estes using a camera angle which looks up at Marty. This shows Marty as powerful and in full control. Estes goes on to show a close-up of Marty, again on the boat, which focuses in on his eyes. This allows the viewer to see the pure anger which Marty is facing. Again, Estes uses close-ups to present Marty as the dominant character, and the true villain in the film. Finally, Marty is again show as a villain as he; Rocky and Clyde leave the pizza shop. Marty is positioned in the center of the three showing his dominance. This shows that he is above the other two, making him a villain. He is considered as a more significant character and of far greater…

The first page talks about somebody just opening up a diner in Whistle Stop, Alabama and what kind of food is sold there. This first page also lets me know what time period this novel is based on. The next couple of pages introduces a couple of important characters such as: Idgie Threadgoode, Ruth Jamison, Sispey, Onzell, Big George, Mrs. Ninny Threadgoode, and Evelyn Couch.…
