Deltora Quest: City of the Rats
Author: Emily Rodda
The Main character of this book are Lief, Barda My favorite character of this book would probably have to be Jasmine. She’s a girl who grew up in the woods by her self. Called the “Forest of Shadows” .She had to learn survival and mature fast. Who joins Lief and Barda on there mission when they come in the forest to locate one of Gems of Deltora. She’s like Katniss Everdeen from Hunger Games. But more savage and aggressive.

The story is about the land of Deltora which is over taken by the shadow lord. The only way to bring the land back to its normal state and to get the Shadow Lord to leave is to unite all Gems of Deltora onto the belt, and a person of each of the tribes of Deltora. Lief, Barda and Jasmine are on a mission to go around the land locating and searching for the Gems in hope to save It and bring it to its beautiful and original state.
The 3 heroes wonder around trying to find one of the gems, and go to Toms shop which is a small shop which sells equipment. They go in to buy equipment and a horse. They didn’t a horse so they got a 3 legged mammal. They wonder into a place called a castle of some sort, and meet the people of Noradzeer. Who are people who are highly strict about hygiene, and are ruled by the 9 Ra-Kacharz. What ever they say are the law. They meet Reece, the 1st of the Ra-Kacharz. Who takes advantage of his power. The 3 heroes were believe to bring in dirtiness which are evil to the people of Noradzeer. So they are taken into judgement and were sentence into prison.

My favorite part would probably when they are in Toms shop. For Tom is a greedy salesmen who sells his stuff for over price. But the heroes would have to buy them anyway. But just when there out of money. Jasmine pulls out a bag of gold, wish she had collected from all who have died in the Forest of Shadows. She pulls the out like no value. But they are highly valuable as the currency. Which is probably like $100

The Shawshank Redemption (1994) is a spectacular feature film directed by Frank Darabont who adapted Stephen King’s novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption (Different Seasons collection). First things first, the poster of the movie has these words “Fear can hold you prisoner, Hope can set you free” on it. This quote clearly explains the power of hope freedom. Now moving to the movie itself, there have been many amazing prison dramas in the past so how does Shawshank Redemption filled with so many clichés differ from them? The movie is spread across a long period of time letting the simplest things take a fuller meaning the smallest details have their importance. This is what makes the main difference. In a place where everything has…

I chose the movie Goodfellas to watch for my project. For this movie we had to do the camera work and how it affected the movie. The movie shows in how the soldiers of the mafia or gangs lived. It is centralized around the middle men showing no true boss or Don of the gang. The main character is Henry Hill. It starts out with him as a kid being brought into the “family” and then the rest of the movie is his exploits or his life choices.…

"The Shawshank Redemption" has a religious theme throughout the film as the warden only believes in two things "discipline and the Bible" and when the warden first speaks to Andy he quotes from the Bible "Salvation lies within" which isn't mentioned again in the film until Andy escapes and the warden reads it in the inner cover of the bible which also Andy kept his rock hammer in which was the tool Andy used to create the hole in his cell for him to escape. Now Andy a character which throughout the film has been seen as an imagery of Christ, as he is different from the other prisoners "he had a quiet way about him, a walk and a talk that just wasn't normal around here". He made a difference which benefitted himself and the other prisoners and showed that even just one person can do a lot if they have determination and most importantly hope.…

The key connection that brought all the texts I have studied together was the theme of being trapped. The texts that have links and connections are; The Shawshank Redemption directed by Frank Darabont, Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Birthday Party by Katherine Brush and The Dolls House by Katherine Mansfield. These four texts all have the connection of trapped in common as well as other connections such as character and method of narration. The connection of trapped is a good example that in today’s society there are so many different ways of being trapped and that everyone will deal with it and get through it in their own way.…
