Sharing My Gifts with the World
“Sharing my gifts with the world” I believe that each of us have unique gifts to offer the world. By giving and sharing we are bringing joy and happiness to ourselves and others. David Viscott said, “The purpose of life is to discover your gift. The meaning of life is giving your gift away”. I believe that by sharing our gifts we are embracing the true purpose of life. By loving, sharing and understanding our needs we are filling our hearts with a joy. My gifts to the world are my caring for others and my dedication to my family and work, but what I need is to make sure that I have time to spend on my hobby and find time to be just with myself. My friends describe me as a warm person. I am someone whom they can trust and many times seek advice from. Inside, I feel so complete, when I have a chance to offer my heart by showing how much I care. I believe that every person is special, and deserves to feel important and loved. The true value of caring for others it’s a simple act of giving. By giving and caring, I mean to support and letting my family and friends know how much I love them. Giving out a smile to the stranger, helping out an old lady to find her car in the parking lot or supporting an institution for a sick children, are just few of so many to share. I feel so blessed to know that by sharing my gift of caring I was able to make someone’s day brighter and happier. In my life I feel committed to share my gift of dedication to my family and work. Those are essential parts of my life, and I feel that I am able to give best of me in each of this areas. My family is the most important gift that life could offer me. I am dedicated to my family by caring about their feelings and being a good listener. I nurture this special relationship by offering my support and love for them. I offer my support by helping my children to discover their own talents and gifts. My daughter loves her art

THESIS: The word caring can have many different definitions. Caring to me means being there for anyone who needs help whether that means physically, mentally, emotionally, or even spiritually. Caring for someone does not mean showering them in gifts. Caring means showing people you are their for them with not only your words but with your actions. The saying actions speak louder than words is definitely true when it comes to caring for someone. Actions are very important when it comes to showing care. To care for someone is to show them you are there for them no matter what. For example, I would take the time each day to help my younger brother with his homework. Although, helping with homework is not a big deal to some people he realized that…

This idea of helping others no matter the situation has always been a value I hold close because of how I was raised. When one takes the time to demonstrate they really care, they simultaneously demonstrate there are still good people in this world. As an optimist this is something I strive to show the world because I truly believe good people can still be found. According to Browder Lazenby, Morris, & Rhodes (2011) caring can also be seen through someone who is excited to provide competent care to patients. Rhodes et al. (2011) also view caring as a personal experience that evolves into a professional experience through the progression of a career. This development also includes the idea of self-care as a key aspect, which my family has also helped me establish throughout my life. This important idea of caring will influence me as a professional nurse because I know it’s importance in a nursing career. Browder Lazenby et al. (2011) provided data referring to the positive aspects of professional caring and how they are viewed by others which instilled in me the importance of caring as a nurse. I plan to carry out this value of caring as a nurse through continual self-reflection and critical thinking. I also believe keeping a separation between personal and professional issues would ideal for professional. Another very important core value to personal…
