Service Design Case Study
in my third year of university, I have a chance to study Service Design Innovation course. Many people including me asked me different kinds of the same question: “What is this course and What have been your experience from this course?”. It is quite hard for me to answer these questions at first. But now, I can confidently say that there are many happy moments and hard time so. But Each person has different experiences in learning this subject. For example, some might get more joyful or boring that me but personally I think that for over all my experience in service design as my valuable experience.
At firstly. I feel confused and I did't understand in this course. And a summer, It makes me feel the brain is closed rather than take a rest

It is very challenging us. Because the business that we select is a state enterprises so it is quite hard to deal with. But I think that that we are not select wrong business because in addition to the difficulty of working with the state, It is that we have to go to the deal with people who are working including their customers to know the real problem and to solve the real problem. I feel empowered to talk to many people and difference situations. In addition a skill to deal with people. A skill to work in time or time management is equally good. This project is not just about assignment that just finished within the group. But it is working together with the teacher and the organization that we choose and within our own group also. It is very difficult but finally we made it. Although there are some tears, we can survive the crisis. And when I look back. It was not that difficult. When we can adapt to the learning and working in this subject. What made me stunt for three seconds was that the teacher assign me to do a co-creation and experimented with being as an employee. When I first listened to the teacher, it looked freakish. But whenI did a co-creation, it was really work. When we tried to offer ideas to solve their problems. They gave good advices. It made us look at the wider, revealing pros and coins of each idea. It gave us the opportunity to develop a better solution. And to try to be an employee. We tried to do it even though it was not a full part. It makes us feel a real employee. I can see the problem more

    I notice that the Set & Prop Designer becomes self-centered when it’s not involving important personnel e.g. Director or Production manager. For example: Due to the intangible nature of service it cannot be sampled before, but can only be experienced through simultaneous consumption process when being delivered.     The growth in services has also been accompanied by the rising share of services in world transactions. Not only has the services sector grown in terms of its share in global output and employment, its share in total trade has also grown rapidly in this period. The growing importance of services sector and the corresponding rise in its role in integrating the world economy has led to a stream of literature that examines different aspects of trade in services. The service production process is much more complex and ambiguous. Some products sit on either end of the continuum as either a pure good or a pure service, but most products lie somewhere in between the two. A pencil would be considered more of a pure good; where as, baby sitting would be considered more of a pure service. Restaurants offer a combination of both a goods and services. Servitization Much of the growth in the service sector has been driven by attaching “value added” service components to goods in order to gain a competitive advantage. This was servitization at work. My mind started dreaming up other services or goods that could be bundled with the camcorder to increase sales at an even higher price. They could offer movie making classes and editing services. They could also include coupons for complementary goods, like: microphones, lights, and recording tapes. Servitization can be used to do more than provide a competitive advantage. It can drive the sales of a secondary product. Apple Computer is no longer just a hardware company. They are a service company as well. When you buy an Apple computer, you have access to a help desk and computer classes. Plus, you are given numerous opportunities to upgrade your services and receive more value. Service businesses are enterprises that are established and maintained for the purpose of providing services rather than product to private and commercial customers. In a service business, you would be looking to add people who possess the requisite skills to perform the work. The typical service business provides intangible products, such as accounting, banking, consulting, cleaning, landscaping, education, insurance, treatment, and transportation services. While a service organization will also require some equipment and supplies, its key planning decisions surround processing times. The primary input to most service processes is labor. Whether it's an auto mechanic tuning an engine or an insurance agent preparing an application for coverage, the constraint is the amount of time it takes to process each task. The constraining or "bottleneck" process is often a department with limited personnel or resources, as opposed to a mechanical process with a fixed time or capacity constraint. As such, it usually requires less investment to add capacity to a service organization to satisfy more customer demand. This is opposite of what manufacturing does in planning. In manufacturing planning, one organization must plan to have materials, personnel, facilities and equipment all ready at the right time to produce finished goods for sale. Many manufacturing companies use a software to help schedule all the required resources at the right time. The key difference that tends to make manufacturing planning more complex than service planning is the addition of materials and physical processing. Many physical processes have fixed time and space requirements that can't be compressed.…
