“Methods of Evangelism”

Part ONE-Evangelistic Method #1- The intellectual method I chose was Four Spiritual Laws. I found a pamphlet by Bill Bright, which stated in plain English the four laws, God loves you, Man is sinful, and Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. And, we must individually receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This method would be great to use in any setting, weather believer or non-believer. It further shows how much God loves us, by sending His only son. This method does not pressure the person, encourages the person to look inside of themselves and understand their need for what God is offering. It’s not forcing the person, it invites, and that is the advantage

Depending on the person, the place and the situation, I have had to use parts of each method. I’ve used servant to draw people who thought the church or God didn’t care, but after we reached out to them through servant evangelism they came around. With my family, who know my past and see me now I use the four spiritual laws, and explosive evangelism to help open their eyes. With young children I use the friendship method, with a child they must trust that you are who you say you are. I practice the lifestyle every day, but I think it gets bad press because, everyone says your lifestyle is not evangelism, but it is a big part of it. People read you before they read their Bibles. In this new place that I am in, I asked the Lord to let people ask me questions, I talk all the time about Christ, but no one ask any questions. At a family gathering one of my cousin who has been lost for such a long time, asked me a question. I was so thrilled, I took my time and asked the Holy Spirit what was the real question. And I answered her to the best of my

Fay's work Share Jesus Without Fear is a highly systematic method that is meant to be used as guide for otherwise ineffective christians share the Gospel. Fay begins the book by sharing his extremely sinful past and his path to redemption. Fay follows with his frank criticisms of evangelicals. Fay writes on page three that evangelizing is about being a faithful follower not about saving souls. Fay points out that only five to ten percent of christians have shared their faith in the last twelve months. He goes on to state that most Christians find comfort in their new community of believers instead of returning to the community of non-believers to share what Jesus has done in their lives. On page six Fay shares his…

“Inside the Mind of Unchurched Harry and Mary”, written by Lee Strobel is a very practical book that gives an action plan on how to reach people who avoid God and church. The purpose of the book is to, “help advance readers in their understanding of unchurched people so that personal evangelistic efforts and the efforts of the church might become effective” (Strobel 15). This book shows how Christians can be effective in connecting and evangelizing to non-Christians without feeling the need to shove religion down their throats. The chapters that grabbed my attention were, “Introducing you to unchurched Harry and Mary”, “Understanding your unchurched friends Part I”, and “Meeting Harry where he lives.”…

In Communicating for a Change, we look at three different possibilities for “communicating from the Scriptures,” challenging his students to learn, but also to teach teachers how to transform their presentations to effect change in their listeners.1 The author identifies three ways or goals of how people can be taught Scriptures. The first goal is to teach the Bible to the people. The idea is to teach the content of the bible so the people can understand and navigate through scriptures.2 This approach is used when a person simply wants to explain the Bible. This approach does not require creativity or increased application but does require a great deal of interest from listeners. The second goal…

This mission reminds us that for the Kingdom of God to continue to break in, individual lives need to be changed, while being motivated and equipped for transformation. Our Book of Discipline offers this cue: “God has used our church to save persons, heal relationships, transform social structures, and spread scriptural holiness, thereby changing the world.” When we change lives and introduce people to the all-loving nature of God, we indeed transform the world. When making disciples, the Church welcomes people into community, educates them on God’s call for Christians, and equips them toward using their spiritual gifts to serve as change agents playing a role in bringing about the Kingdom of…

There are many different people in the world today with a varied view of religion. There are perhaps thousands of religious belief sets throughout the world. In the workplace we are confronted with individuals from all walks of life, cultures and religions. There is a woman that I work with by the name of Kiran. We all have the choice to lead or not. So the question becomes: Why does someone choose to lead? I believe the answer is, fundamentally, that they believe strongly enough in something that they want to take action and are willing to take on the responsibility of being a leader. Such is the case for me with regards to teaching. When I was young I simply wanted to be led. As I matured, however, opportunities to assume leadership roles presented themselves and, with support from my peers and mentors, I found myself taking them on and have grown to enjoy being a leader and helping those around me succeed.…

By showing the love and honor that God places in our lives, the security of a fantastic future, the abilities and miracles that can be proven in the Bible are all good places to start. One can also give their own personal story or testimony of victory since giving their life to Christ. By witnessing to people, regardless of their background, God works through us to get His work done. The teaching of faith is very important in Christianity. One can describe faith as “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 NKJV. The Bible has all the answers to life's…

The nature of the Christian Service is the act of doing work for God with a willing heart. Many religious people think that "Christian service" signifies Christian usefulness: to be a regular attender at church, to pray, and a contributor to its finances. Also, to become a teacher of a class, or a leader of young people's society, to engage in evangelistic activities and do personal work. And tell others what Christ means to you. I volunteered 6 hours of service towards my religion hours for the French department at the annual Archbishop MacDonald High School open house.…

Knowing in advance how you will show a person biblically to obtain salvation in Christ will give you more confidence in sharing your faith in the Lord. Everyone should have more than one salvation plan for sharing their faith. Although you will use only one plan at any given time when sharing your faith, the reason for knowing more than one plan is that you may have to witness to the same person more than once before he or she accepts Christ. However, you should not try to learn a second salvation plan until you have used and mastered the first plan. This will take six months to a year of continually witnessing to people.…
