Senior Class President Research Paper
My name Davin Goulbourne, 16 years of age, and currently a junior attending The School of Education & Training (SET) Academy. The position that I am applying for is the senior class president. I have already completed all criteria in order to run for this presidency (GPA currently higher than 3.0, absences lower than 5 officially - excluding my medical absence, and the completion of the application signed with the essay). I am running for the presidency position because I believe that it will make me break out of my comfort zone and experience something different than that of what I am used to on a day-to-day basis. I do trust myself that I can complete the task of president to the best of my abilities.
I believe that I possess many qualities to fill the role as president. For example; a president has to be very friendly towards his peers and associates - in which I do have. A president has to be a good (student/person) inside and outside of school - I do have that. And a president has to show positivity with his/her senior class - I do

I think this is important because the jar represents what the seniors want to get accomplished throughout the year. If for example, a senior said that we should have a Christmas Party before we go off on break, instead of finding the money on the spot, we as a senior class would place money in that jar from the time that the idea came to be until the week or two before we wanted the event to commence. Another idea that would make my senior year memorable is to have a better senior class shirt. The seniors of the graduating class of 2017 responded that they do not like the shirt. “It is not that the shirt looks bad, it’s just the color.” they continued. One senior said to me that if the color of the shirt was something that would be apart of this time that majority of people would have - like the color black or a navy blue, maybe even a burgundy or very dark

The president is a very important person. Homeless people are not. Society has many "rungs" on the so called "social ladder." A homeless person would probably be at the bottom. Where as, the president would be near the top. A rich and powerful man like the president means a lot more to the world than a homeless man. If the president were shot the whole country would cry, but if a homeless man was shot few would shed a tear.…

Almost every child has heard the phrase, "You can grow up to be president someday." And part of that rings true, but is everyone really cut out to be president? What qualifies someone to be a good president? Sadly, not everyone can be president, and a good lot of people should never be put in any type of leadership role. A president should be compassionate, intellectual, and conviction. A man who I believe has all of these qualities is president Theodore Roosevelt, throw in animal magnetism, a sharp wit, and a sparkling personality and you have one of the best presidents our country has ever seen.…

There is a major disease that has spread across the high school nation. It has many stages and each of them is deadly. The side effects cause problems for just about anyone that has been affected. The only people who are in danger are high school students. The disease I’m talking about is called senioritis. Yes, it is real, and yes it is deadly. There are four major symptoms that senioritis causes. The symptoms are procrastination, unmotivated, not being time responsible, and worst of all overly social. Not many people understand fully what senioritis is, and hopefully this article can help those who can’t. It is a disease that I have developed at an early time.…

Honors Study Hall is a highly debated topic within Wild Rose High School. People talk about where it should be held, who should be in it, and even if we should have it in the first place. This year our school decided to take honors study hall from the cafeteria and place it in the library. This was a bad idea because instead of changing the location, the subject in which should change is the people who are allowed to be in honors study hall.…

The belief that liberal arts is extra, just for fun, not useful, worthless, a waste of money, unproductive, futureless, (any or all of the above) is quite frankly a ludicrous claim. Many adults have engrained in their minds, sure that it’s fine to take as a course in school, but it’s never going anywhere, it’s never going to land a career, a job, a lifestyle. The stereotype for ‘worthless’ majors is always liberal arts degrees (whether is philosophy, art history, or Russian literature, they have all been thrown under the bus). In actuality, liberal arts degrees and careers are crucial in today’s day and age, and can often lead to well-paying jobs. When a student decides to go to art school, they are often faced with criticism and other people…

“Nearly 6.5 million young Americans between the ages of 16 and 24 are not in school or the work force.” (Emmons) Sadly every year there are millions of children experiencing homelessness, these children are living in cars, shelters, and abandoned buildings. (Doorways for Women…) Being homeless causes these children to relocate constantly, which results in being pulled out of school and away from their peers. Children are more than likely to become homeless after being physically abused, sexually assaulted, or by family circumstances of financial troubles. In order to survive on the streets young teens are more likely to turn to drug dealing or exchanging sex for food, clothing and shelter. Today’s society has become oblivious to what has been occurring on the streets with these teens. They see no use in helping homeless youth due to the knowledge of homeless people taking money or help for granted. American society today does not understand the hardships homeless youth go through to survive living on the streets: like not having the work experience to get a job, not having the education needed to move further in life, learning and growing up with the influences of the streets and health issues. Parts of society have ignored and mocked the uprising issues of homelessness in youth. They choose not to offer help based on the stereotyping of homeless people. Homeless people are see as very sly, only using the money they are given for drugs and other usages not benefiting them. Society views teens crashing at a peers house as a temporary thing until it becomes a financial consequence.…

A good president is defined as someone who is a good leader, shows great skills in honesty, communication, commitment, intuition, and is capable of inspiring others. A good president isn’t someone who deeply wants to be portrayed as a public celebrity, cares about the way his hair looks more than he cares about our country, and isn’t accepting of all American citizens. Trump has been exposed countless of times furtherly embarrassing the United States. Recently Trump was discovered in several Playboy videos, associating with women and taking pictures of them with a polaroid. I think I would be a good addition to student council and I would like to be considered for the role of administrative assistant (as my first choice) or treasurer (as my second). I am very responsible and good with kids; over the summer I had a regular babysitting job, about once a week. There were two siblings (a four year old and a six year old) and sometimes two additional kids (four year old twins). I babysat approximately six hours (5pm-11pm) at a time. I took my babysitting course a couple years ago and I had quite a few other jobs beside the regular one over the summer. I additionally had a dog walking job nearing the end of last year’s school year. I also have leadership skills; I helped Mrs. Miles with the Terry Fox run. Specifically,…

My name is Demitrius Adolphe, and I wanted to be considered for student council because I always wanted to be a part of the student council but I could never find the time to do it, but now as I approach my senior year I have been able to manage my time a lot better. I feel that I always wanted to join the student council because it symbolized unity within a class to get to know your peers at a deeper level. I feel that I can contribute a lot to the senior class and as an IB student I can say that I am a person of values. I take all higher level courses and I still maintain a good grade in every individual course. I should be considered for this decision because I am an ambitious person who sets goals for himself and a goal right now is to get into senior class so that I can improve my class when the time comes. I also want to be considered for this position because I want to become friends with the students in my class so I can have people that can support me throughout my endeavors. Getting into senior class is a goal that I have set for myself to achieve to help me and my portfolio as a student in high school for future colleges who will view my transcript and have to judge me through words on a paper. Colleges like UF and UCF like to see students who were participating in clubs, spots, and higher level classes. I feel I am very qualified for the position that I have set my sight to because I am a well-rounded student who is doing good in school such as grades and extra-curricular activities. I also play football and in another program called POPs an organization that only accepts qualified applicants. I want to be considered for the position I requested for because I have always wanted to be in senior class to benefit myself and my class and offer my time to help the council. Every since I was young I always saw high school as a time that I would grow and it would be the time I would participate and be a part of everything, but to be honest I have only done…
