Science and technology have improved our life in many ways. Science together with technology plays a strong role in the industrialization as well as modernization of the world. Those are the main reasons why the Association of Science Educators in the Philippines (ASEP) continuously gives assistance and support to all the educators in our country. One of these proofs was the recently held 7th National Science Convention in Baguio City last April 29-May 1, 2013. Its theme was “Science and Technology Advancement: Enhancing Quality of Life of Educators throughout Intervention and Research”. The said convention was attended by select school heads and key teachers from different parts of the country. The program was graced and supported by the honourable Secretary of Education, Bro. Armin A. Luistro. He commended the noble intentions of the organizers headed by the ASEP President, Dr. Fruit R. Godoy. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to them for showing continuous commitment and dedication to intensify the love and support of people to Science and Technology. The organizers’ aim was further discussed by Bishop Efraim Perez, Secretary of Interfaith in Malacaňang Palace. He also gave a talk about Leadership and Management with Integration of Moral Values Enhancement for Educators. This was followed by the discussion of Modern Strategies and Managing Change in Classroom Discussion by Dr. Enrico M. Habijan, Chief, CMLT. Another day was made possible and fruitful with the workshop on Test Construction. In addition, another talk by Dr. Lolita M. Andrada and Dr. Beatriz G. Torno had awakened the senses of the attendees. They gave new insights and techniques to improve the quality of education in our country. The last day of the program focused on two aspects. First was about the Conceptualization of Action Research and the other was about Personality Enhancement through Psych Movement and Physical

In the Symposium, one of Plato’s most popular texts; Agathon, a Greek poet, gathers a group of men together in celebration. As the drinking party, or the symposium draws on the subject of love , it’s meaning and it’s state soon comes up. Agathon decides that each man in attendance is required to deliver an encomium, or speech on the topic. Each man gives his own he recount of what he believes is the true nature of love. The last man to speak before Socrates is the host himself, Agathon. He decides that love is a young god, a dainty god that shuns anything old and loves only what is young and beautiful. The next speaker is Socrates, who decides to make a speech not on the nature of love, but simply refuting all that Agathon has said about love. In order to do this, Socrates recalls a conversation he had with a woman by the name of Diotima of Mantinea, of whom he had sought wisdom. Her own chronicle of love is very different from all that has been said at the symposium thus far.…

In this paper I will discuss what high-stakes testing is, some pros and cons of high-stakes testing, and a way teachers can perhaps deal with high-stakes testing (High-Stakes Testing, 2014).…
