Self-Efficacy Evaluation
Last Tuesday I participated in four physical tests to assess my level of self-efficacy prior, during, and after different exercises. For two of the tests I was highly confident that my performance would be excellent by the test standards and that confidence allowed me to have a great deal of self-efficacy going into those two. The two tests where I went in with a high self-efficacy were the pushup, and two footed wall squat. Adversely, the left leg wall squat, and right leg wall squat I faced a great deal of uncertainty was not really sure what to expect resulting in a low self efficacy prior to these tests.

Overall, my performance did turn up surprisingly well in both of these tasks and as I got closer to my desired time my self-efficacy gradually increased. My self-efficacy also grew once I saw other classmates performing these exercises successfully giving me some extra confidence (Vicarious experiences). I reached a peak once I was done with the satisfaction that I could perform a task I was highly unconfident of. The reason originally for my low self efficacy in these exercises had to do with that I had previously never attempted a one leg wall squat and had no idea how to maneuver my other leg, additionally the boots that I was wearing did not have much traction which also created some fear and anxiety. Looking back perhaps the boots could have been my way of creating a self-handicap to excuse my possible future failure. My low self efficacy and doubts led to some physiological effects such as I began to mildly sweat and my heart rate began to increase quite rapidly as I was in the process of preparing to try the one leg wall

    The physio told me that the muscles in the left knee were considerably smaller than my right knee, this was because I have a tendency to put more of my weight on my right foot. This meant when I put an equal amount pressure on each knee there is pain as they are not used to it.
