SC-300-12 Big Ideas in science: From methods to mutation | UNIT 9 FINAL PROJECT | SCIENCE MEETS REAL LIFE | | Tammie Granger | 11/18/2011 |

This is a paper about the impact of science on everyday activities of living a normal life. |

Science Meets Real Life I arrive home late one night. I walk up to the front door. I dig through my purse to find my keys to unlock the door. Once I do that I reach inside the door to turn the light switch on only to discover to my dismay that it does not come on. I walk into the kitchen to check that light. Great it works. That means that the electricity has not been turned off. There is the most likely reason that the light bulb has burned out. The solution is to replace the light bulb.

I have not personally had an animal diagnosed with heart disease at my clinic, where I had to have a conversation with an owner about a diet change, so I did my best with this post to imagine the different things I would want to be sure to tell an owner about heart disease and how I would want to make sure they understood the importance of changing their animal’s diet. One of the first things I would try to do is find out what type of food and treats they were currently giving to their animal and find out the sodium content of that food and treats. This way I could identify the areas they need to change, and I would also be able to see if there is anything they are currently giving to their animal that they could still give occasionally. I…
