Sam Bradford
Sam Bradford Samuel Jacob Bradford was born November 8th of 1978 to his loving parents, Martha and Kent Bradford. Sam is the only child, which allowed his parents to devote all their time to him and support what it is he wanted to do. Whether it was playing sports or the cello, his parents did what they could to develop it. They encouraged him in everything. "As long as it was a good, wholesome thing,” Kent said. "If he wanted to do it, do it.” Even though Sam was central to their lives, he wasn’t coddled. There was discipline if he misbehaved. There was tough love. Martha and Kent’s devotion to Sam remains just as strong to this day. Much of what the Bradford’s did involved sports. Martha is a physical education teacher for an elementary school and Kent was a former sooner offensive lineman. Some might say it was nature and some say it was nurture, either way Sam tended towards sports. Bradford attended Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City. There he starred in golf, basketball, and football. His senior year he was the star quarterback for the Panthers. Bradford threw for 2,029 yards and scored 17 touchdowns in 12 games. He received an athletic scholarship to the University of Oklahoma, where he played for Coach Bob Stoops.
In 2006, Oklahoma's starting quarterback Rhett Bomar, then a sophomore, was dismissed from the team for violating NCAA rules. Paul Thompson, a senior quarterback-turned-wide receiver, converted back to quarterback and led the 2006 Oklahoma Sooners football team to win the Big 12 Championship Game. His departure left a void at the quarterback position at Oklahoma. On August 21, 2007, Bradford won the starting quarterback role for the 2007 team as a redshirt freshman.
In his first game for the Sooners, against the University of North Texas, Bradford completed 21 of 23 attempts for 363 yards and three touchdowns in a little over two quarters, breaking the school record for passing yards in a half, held by his quarterback coach

In 2005 the world had been introduced to one of the best collegiate running backs to ever go through the University of Southern California. His name is Reggie Bush and he achieved one of the best personal awards any collegiate football player could want and that would be the Heisman award. Reggie bush played running back for USC in 2005, he was 6 foot tall and weighed 200 pounds, and he played tailback as a sophomore in college and played in 13 games. He was named “Pigskin club of Washington D.C offensive player of the year.” He was also named the2004 PAC-10 offensive player of the year, “Then He was named the 2005 Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year (just the fifth player ever so honored and the first non-quarterback to do it in 20 years) and also made the All-Pac-10 first team as a tailback (the squad's only unanimous pick) and second team as a punt returner.” Nor do I need to mention that he won the 2005 Heisman trophy award by a landslide. Bush received 2,541 points and beat Young by a staggering 93 points. Everybody knows that bush deserves the Heisman trophy whether they want to admit to it or not Bush was the best.…

The 2011 NFL season was a banner year for Tom Brady. Brady threw 39 touchdown passes against only 12 interceptions and threw for 5,235 yards (the second highest total in NFL history) with a 105.6 QB Rating. Brady also led a Patriots team that had the NFL’s the 31st ranked defense and no real running game to speak of to a 13-3 record and within minutes of another Super Bowl title. If it weren’t for Aaron Rodgers and his superhuman performance at Quarterback, Brady would’ve almost certainly been awarded his third MVP trophy in 5 years.…

    William Bradford

William Bradford's most well-known work by far is Of Plymouth Plantation. It was a detailed history in manuscript form about the founding of the Plymouth colony and the lives of the colonists from 1621 to 1646.[46] It is a common misconception that the manuscript was actually Bradford's journal. Rather, it was a retrospective account of his recollections and observations, written in the form of two books. The first book was written in 1630; the second was never finished, but "between 1646 and 1650, he brought the account of the colony's struggles and achievements through the year 1646."[47] As Walter P. Wenska states, "Bradford writes most of his history out of his nostalgia, long after the decline of Pilgrim fervor and commitment had become apparent. Both the early annals which express his confidence in the Pilgrim mission and the later annals, some of which reveal his dismay and disappointment, were written at about the same time."[46] In Of Plymouth Plantation, Bradford drew deep parallels between everyday life and the events of the Bible. As Philip Gould writes, "Bradford hoped to demonstrate the workings of divine providence for the edification of future generations."[47] Despite the fact that the manuscript was not published until 1656, the year before his death, it was well received by his near contemporaries.…
