SWOT Analysis Of An Occupational Therapy
Alex just graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in health and science and a masters in Occupational Therapy. Throughout her collegiate years she was a great student, hard working, organized, and always stayed on top of her work; along with being involved in clubs such as Student Government Association and Dance Marathon. Recently, a local private practice had some a job opening for an occupational therapist. After doing a SWOT analysis, Alex seems to be the best applicant for the position. She displays exceptional communication skills, a resourceful personality, goal oriented-mindset, and compassion and empathy. Alex’s will to help others makes her the ideal candidate for this private practice. Good communication skills are necessary in all careers. For example, as an occupational therapist you work with several types of people. Therefore, it is important you are comfortable when it comes to talking with clients. Alex’s ability to collaborate with other colleagues is important for purposes like discussing research. Her involvement in student government has been a great tool in helping build those skills as she was required to do lots collaborating with fellow classmates and faculty members. As her patients are already in a vulnerable situation her understanding and caring attitude are what will aid in her client’s journey to recovery. People seeking treatment do not want a greedy, impatient, irritable person as their therapist they need someone who is going to be uplifting. Alex has experienced many opportunities in her life that have required to be compassionate.
