For “the Religion is the Opium of the People”
Religion is a belief of supernaturalism for the individual’s satisfaction. Religion is there to be a shelter for the less fortunate so that they can escape from the world of reality and have supernatural beings to rely on. Opium, in comparison to religion, is used by the people who want to relieve their pain and anxiety in everyday life through hallucination. This similarity shows that religion is a manipulation used by government to oppress their people so that they won’t raise their voice against the government.
Some people argue that religion is necessary for peaceful society. They argue that religion is there to organize people to do good deeds and obey the rules set by government. However, considering the fact that religion has caused many conflicts due to different beliefs throughout history, people should not rely on religion. Human being has a conscious to do good deeds and follow the rules set for public. They have a will to make the world a better place without believing anything. Thus, what people needs is the government that negotiates and works together with people for the benefit of all, rather than the government that tries to control people with religion.
Overall, I believe that people can keep peace and order without a false belief. They do not need religion to feel better about distress they experience in reality. They do not need any government acting like an oppressor controlling the people by making them addicted to religion. Instead, they need a government that encourages the people to improve their lives and country. Then, eventually, people will free themselves from religion and serve the government in order to fulfill their will for the better life, better government, and better world and
