Riordan Manufacturing is a leader in the plastic manufacturing industry with employees exceeding 500 and projected annual earnings in excess of $40 million. The company is owned by Riordan Industries, and the company 's revenue exceed $1 billion. Riordan Manufacturing currently has plant locations in Albany, GA, Pontiac, MI, San Jose, CA. and Hangzhou, China. Riordan has established a reputation in the industry for their innovation, profitability, reasonable pricing, quality, and precision. Despite Riordan success, the company has been experiencing several challenges.

However, brainstorming is one of the most often used technique. According to Cooper, Gray, Raymond and Walker 2005, Brainstorming is a very useful technique for the initial identification of a wide range of risks, particularly for large or unique projects. It is an interactive, team-based approach, depending for its success on the breadth of experience and skills present in the brainstorming group and the skills of the facilitator. The aim of the brainstorming session is to cover all potential risks, without making judgments about their importance in the initial stages. Employee response was unfavorable to project strategies, resulting in lack of motivation and poor performance
2. Through research, it was discovered that Riordan compensation rate was not in line with other companies in the industry, employees were not elated by the discovery.
3. Insufficient training and failure to develop employee’s skills made employees incapable of performing assigned tasks. Skill employees were not given the opportunity for advancement.
4. Employee’s efforts and accomplishments were not recognized and rewarded accordingly, which only lead to additional frustration and created distance and an uncomfortable, unstable work environment.
Employees are receptive and productive when they feel that their opinion matters and their efforts are well compensated. Employees are attracted to opportunities that allow them to shine, that fosters growth, present challenges and forces development allowing them to succeed personally and professionally.
