However Barack Obama conveys his message more directly and thoroughly than Romney.…

The final strategic error that Cruz suffered from was non-persuasive pathos. Pathos is employed in order to ignite emotion or feeling in an attempt to rally support. Cruz used effective descriptions and adjectives to employ pathos, but because of a lack of timeliness and empathy his pathos were not persuasive. At the beginning of his Prayer to France, Cruz effectively portrayed support and stood in solidarity with the people of Paris by asking God to, “lift up’, “comfort”, and “be with the people of Paris.…
Bill Clinton is a master of communication. He communicates his emotions and people respond to that. "Pathos" is the pillar that he uses most. We want the sense of community so he gives us the opportunities. He has an enthusiasm and excitement while talking. He willing to share that enthusiasm when exposed to anyone. "Logos" is the next pillar he uses for communication. He is very clever and he has good memories. When he prelects, he can easily give exactly the numbers, the information of the problem. When everyone knows him is Bill Clinton, "Ethos" will be appear. He is a famous person so his speech has absolute conviction. He uses "pathos" and "logos" most because that is his characteristic. He uses "ethos" least because he does not want…
Euphemisms are used in writing to reduce offenses or disturbances in the audience created by certain words or phrases. Euphemisms are widely used in normal social contexts, the media and even politics. Politicians use euphemisms in their rhetoric to lessen the impact of their words to avoid creating alarm and heighten emotions. Political euphemisms often “sugar coat” the real message and do not give an actual portrayal of the message, in essence understating the facts. In his speech, “Responsibly ending the war in Iraq”, President Obama uses a lot of euphemisms to sound politically correct, to minimize the impact of the war in Iraq and to justify the continued presence of the US military in Iraq. This essay includes a rebuttal of these euphemisms and shows how the euphemisms used downplay certain situations arising from the war, and how they are used to justify the continued occupation of Iraq.…
“Despite Donald Trump’s strong use of pathos, he utilized a very limited amount of logos. He mainly used factual statements for the purpose of highlighting his emotional appeals. Statements such as,”The senate Subcommittee on Immigration has already identified hundreds of immigrants charged with terrorist activities inside the United States since September 11th.”, although logical, are designed to stir up the emotions of the audience. In his speech, Mr. Trump also said,”All of the September 11th hijackers were issued visas.” It is much more difficult to critique a candidate’s position if they are using fact to support it, which is why many politicians will insert a small amount of facts into an otherwise highly emotional speech. Both of the…
United States foreign policy in central and east Africa has remained relatively consisted since the 1990s. The Clinton, Bush and Obama administration worked with, as President Bill Clinton labelled ‘new generation’ of African leaders to help bring stability and Western oriented market-focused economic development policies. Western assistance composed on the premise of foreign aid for social development of schools, healthcare facilities and progression in human rights. It does not often cover when African states fall into chaos from wars, massacres and genocide, American presence is largely absent. The Mogadishu line, famous after eighteen U.S. soldiers died in a raid in 1993, still persists with America’s hesitation to use its military in Africa for missions beyond state interest and security. Rwanda experienced this first hand during its 1994 genocide.…

It was a competitive election for Barack Obama and John McCain. This election would determine the fate of many lives during the economic downfall that the United States was facing. In 2008, Michelle Obama spoke at the Democratic Convention about her husband Barack Obama. The election was Barack Obama against John McCain. The well known woman wanted to bring attention to how her husband is a strong leader. She uses strategies like pathos through imagery, repetition, and language to persuade the American people to vote for her husband to become the next president of the United States.…
When it comes to communication, Donald Trump had a very unique approach. He does not “play it safe” at all. Instead, he is bold and rather casual in debates, and it works. Donald Trump is appealing to a younger crowd beginning with his communication strategy. He talks like he is in high school. He uses his words in a clear way where everyone can comprehend the message he is trying to get across. While it could potentially and did in fact offend people who find themselves more sophisticated, it appealed to the average person. Also, he has sort of mastered exploiting whoever his current opponent is. He proclaims whatever he wants about them, not paying much attention to the truth. For anyone who feels that they have lack of power or are voiceless,…
In January 2003, then President George W. Bush signed an executive order that gave religious charities access to federal money. This order circumvented Congress and all their objections to the requests through the previous years of Bush’s presidency. According to President Bush, this would “help clear away a legacy of discrimination against faith based charities” (Wilhem and Williams, para. 7). The order made it legal for the organizations that were receiving federal money to keep their religious beliefs out in the open. Previous laws forbade any charity or organization receiving federal help from displaying crosses or other symbols, having their board members chosen strictly based on their religious beliefs, and even having a religious stance in their mission statements (Wilhem and Williams para. 12). Now, Bush cleared the way for those that wanted to have a charity, be religious, and have access to federal grant money.…
Facebook isn’t just a place to see pictures of friends and family’s latest vacation, or to see what your sister-in-law cooked for dinner that night. It’s a place where news, messages, ideas, and funny cat videos can spread at the click of a button. Given that, on average, over 628 million people log on to facebook each day, it is a great website for advertisement. With these statistics, anyone trying to relay some type of message would be “stupid” to not use Facebook as a resource. With this in mind, the Facebook page of GOP front runner Donald Trump takes advantage of the use of Facebook to express his personal values, gain media exposure, and to acquire voter support for his presidential campaign through a use of image and text post strategies…
