What is research and its purpose in academic writing? What qualifies as effective research?
With research we seek to understand why things behave in certain way, or what makes people buy a particular product. Infect research is a process which unraveling the facts underlying the phenomenon. An effective research is not merely a search for truth, but it should be a prolonged, intensive, purposeful search. In the last analysis, research constitutes a method for the discovery of truth which is really a method of critical thinking. It comprises defining and redefining problems; formulating hypothesis or suggested solutions; collecting, organizing and evaluating data; making deduction and reaching conclusions; and last carefully testing the conclusions to determine whether they fit the formulating hypothesis
