INTRODUCTION

Some of today’s most commonly used technologies started out as mere science fiction fantasies. Microwaves, cell phones, 3D printers. The imagination of the past becomes a commonplace technology of the present, and virtual reality is a prime example of that happening, right now. The Oculus Rift is the current pinnacle of virtual reality headsets to date. It was created with the intention of being a high-definition head-tracking full-3D virtual reality headset available for the mass market at an affordable price.

OBJECTIVE

The purpose of creating this research paper was to determine how effective the Oculus Rift will be in our everyday lives. We have gathered sufficient information about the new innovative technology for the people to know more about the product that is currently placed in the market today. Our objective is to know how immersive a virtual reality technology is and how the Oculus Rift is wearable and affordable.

    DewataAR application uses brochures as a Marker to display Augmented Reality which is a video, 3 dimensional objects, and audio that become the advantages of this research. However, this study has the only shortcomings of using brochures as a Marker that is easily to lose if the user is messy. [4] In Augmented Reality technology, the concept of introducing images, object recognition and 3 dimensional object tracking is not a new concept and has been used primarily by markers in visual form. This visual marker has been widely used in some Augmented Reality applications in several studies. In the majority of these applications, to realize the performance of the Augmented Reality system is highly dependent on the tracking method using marker detection, pose estimation, and so forth according to the application. However, the use of this marker may result in limited interactivity restricted to a wide range of images and objects realized in the form of borders and barcodes to create markers. Therefore to realize this approach, this marker mark must be printed and also stored for future use of this application. Unlike Augmented reality technology that uses marker bases, in a markerless based augmented reality system, any part of the environment can actually be used as a target or marker, so that each coordinate position can be traced to place virtual objects in both 2D and 3D form. [5] Based on that assumption markerless augmented reality is an interesting technology to develop. Markerless Augmented has many types among others, combination with GPS, motion, face tracking and the balance of orientation with gyroscope sensor.     The first true mention of augmented reality is in L. Frank Baum’s novel The Master Key. Printed in 1901, the book mentions a “character marker” set of electronic spectacles that when view someone through them would show a letter on that person’s forehead regarding their character. “I give you the Character Marker. As technology has advanced and become focused on mobile development, augmented reality has become closer to practical use than ever before. The introduction of smart phones with GPS and cameras such as the iPhone and Android phones is giving rise to an array of AR applications.
