injustice, hunger and job insecurity is how they described maquiladoras. Maybe some of these issues are not obvious enough for people to see them as problems. From my point of view I think that the government keeps a lot of information from people, for their own benefit or to prevent riots from happening or maybe to stop legal actions done against them.…

My astronaut is Gus Grissom. What interests me about Gus Grissom is that he had such a normal life. He grew up in a small town with three siblings, and was an average student in school. His school principal thought of him as "an average solid citizen who studied just about enough to get a diploma." He didn't study that much and didn’t have any education or school goals. Even though he wasn't the best student, he joined the military, got a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and then joined the air force again. He was a great pilot for the air force but ended up as an astronaut for NASA. He got from being an average student to an astronaut by joining the military and getting a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. After he got…

Christopher Columbus day should not remain a holiday because it is just another event on the calendar to keep track of and it could make some native American tribes aggravated if it stays. Even if Columbus day isn’t as bad as it seems, the people have the right to want to get rid of it. Although some people will get mad if this day leaves, they should know that “Columbus was a cruel slave trader who brought about the mass killing of native people.”. Columbus day was supposed to be a day when America was found, but others go deeper than that and want to get rid of it. All people, Americans and Native Americans get to have a say in this, whether it be to stay or it is to…

China is not the only country that “prefer” women to work in factories many countries do this including Mexico. Once again I had never paid attention to the maquiladoras that are just across the border where I have family members that work in some of them.…
