Christianity and Islam Religion separates the world into several different regions and beliefs. religion is what keeps the world alive with divine thoughts and belief. because of religion, people wake up everyday living their lives for a purpose. What might this purpose be? So people of a certain region have something to believe in, so people feel a purpose in life. Two world religions such as Christianity and Islam hold the answer to religious difference. One of many similarities in these religions is prayer. Christianity prays to their god,
Islam also prays to their god. These two religions are monotheistic, and pray to the same god. Another similarity is Christianity and Islam originate within the same location.
Christianity is an older religion than Islam, but the reason they both originate is because the birth of Jesus Christ. Both religions have a book of religious teachings. Christianity has the Holy Bible, and Islam has the Kor’ran. Although both religions have similarities, doesn’t mean they are perfectly alike. They also share some differences. Christianity believed that Jesus Christ was the messiah, but on the other hand Islam believed he was just another prophet. Christianity and Islam also have very different traditions or celebrations. Christianity celebrates Christmas because it was to be believed that December twenty­fifth was the birth date of Jesus
Christ. Islam has no holiday for Jesus Christ but they celebrate Ramadan, this tradition is attended by not eating or drinking for a whole week! Christianity holds three different branches such as Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox, while Islam has two which would be the Sunni and the Shi’a. Both religions hold a very important piece of history and are extremely important to the planet Earth for their vast beliefs and teachings.
