The article talks about Philippine military helicopters. On Monday, rockets were fired at Muslim rebels who were holed up in areas of a major city on the southern island of Mindanao from several Philippine military helicopters. The Muslim rebels have been holding many people hostage in Zamboanga city. For the past week, authorities estimated that it left 61 people dead and more than 150 people wounded. The recent violence has stunned Zamboanga, a usually bustling trading hub on the southwestern tip of Mindanao, and displaced more than 60,000 people. The Philippine armed forces are carrying out an operation to try to "constrict" the Muslim rebels which according to the article, came ashore last Monday. The operation was described as "delicate", as the troops try to avoid harming hostages and any other civilians caught in the parts of Zamboanga where the rebels are hiding. According to the article, military officials believe that the Muslim rebels might have slightly more than 100 rebels that remain active in Zamboanga and are holding more than 100 people as a human shield. The helicopters carried out a 20 minute attack on rebel positions. The article states that the violence has killed six members of the Philippine security forces and four civilians, wounded 157 people which includes rebels, and have killed 51 rebels.

The government advertises a civil war, by expressing hatred towards the ethnical minorities in Afghanistan, primarily the Hazara. Pashtuns are taught to hate the Hazara because of the history and slight religious difference the two people have, despite both being Afghans.
