Miscommunication can be defined as a failure to get a message across or lack of clear communication. This means that an interaction between two parties in which information was not communicated as desire. This party can be you, our friends, or any possible being having the cognitive power.
It seems that this experience is considerably common. To be more precise , communication has become an article of dress without which we feel uncertain and incomplete so it is difficult to avoid miscommunication. Personally, because of a communication ,I did not get the necessities my friend sent to me because I told an inaccurate address to him. When I arrived to Australia , I lived in a house which was located on 2/25 Homebush Road , Strathfield. My good friend would like to send some parcels to me from another area of Sydney. When I told him the address , I said “ two twenty five Homebush Road”. I forget to say the slash between “two”and “twenty five”. My friend considered that I lived on two hundred twenty five Homebush Road. So those parcels were send back to the depot. Obviously, it is necessary to be specific when communicating with others. For example, instead of saying, “I’ll see you on Sunday,” be more specific and say, “I’ll see you on Sunday at 5 o’clock.”
In conclusion, effective communication is not an easy skill and it takes time to develop this type of ability. Obviously, it seems not impossible. The best practice of a successful communicator is to be specific, ask questions, and be an active listener. This is the key to all effective communication.
