My top occupations are computer scientist, computer systems analyst, computer programmer and software engineer. I am least interested in being an art teacher, or a religious or spiritual leader. Searching for the right career choice in life is not an easy task. There are a few important points to take into consideration when searching. The career path must be a profession in which the individual likes or doesn 't mind doing through the course of his entire professional career. The career interest profiler shows I am mostly investigative, with a score of 30. Considering my background, I strongly agree with the results. Investigative interest deals with thinking rather than working with or leading people. Investigative people tend to look for facts, and try to figure out problems. I am the type of person who likes to work alone, because it is the most efficient for me. Working alone allows me to think more comfortably, rather than discussing a solution with everyone.…

On the self-assessment inventory, I scored between 76 and 88 out of 100 on each key competency except for the Change and Across Cultures competencies. My scores were within the numerical range for 68% of managerial professionals that completed this self-evaluation. For the most part, I see myself as very good on a number of the skills such as balancing my personal and work life, embracing uniqueness, supporting the goals of a team, and making ethical business decisions. For the Across Cultures competency, I am lacking in global experience and the skills to recognize the differences of various cultures and customs. In addition, I need to improve on recognizing, leading, and implementing adaptations when needed by teams and organizations.…

The abilities an individual possesses are an accumulation of their previous life experiences and the various competences which have been practiced for many years. Often times, these skills are overlooked and taken for granted as we never actually think about them in terms of their effect on our potential career choices. After thinking about my personal skills, I compiled a list which included; communication, cooperation, patience, listening, helping others and perseverance; all skills which I have possessed for majority of my lifetime and have used to overcome many challenges. One example in particular which required me to draw on many of these skills, was fairly recently; I am a dance instructor for children ages four to seven and there was a young boy who joined the class later than the rest of the students. I noticed that he was struggling…

When Mrs Gamble introduced the I-Search, I already had an idea of what I wanted to do, though, not a clear one. I became excited when Mrs. Gamble was explaining the process of the I-Search, I was also trying to forget about everything my brother told me and enjoy it. After doing some thinking, I decided that I would do my research on concussions since concussions are common in the sports I play. I wanted to know not only how to prevent them, but the diagnostics and symptoms. I took quality notes and found dense sources to back up my notes. Then, I hit a fork in the road.…

Immediately, when I turned sixteen I woke up in the morning and saw a pair of shinny silver keys sitting on my desk. I jumped up with excitement and rushed out the door wearing only my boxers, with the keys dangling in my hand. There it was: my brand new GMC Envoy, dark hunter green with a wax that could blind you. I stared at the car with excitement and admiration; it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, and it was mine. I took it for a test drive around the block and opened it up on the highway only three blocks from my house. It had a V8 under the hood, black leather seats, a Bose sound system and enough horsepower to tow anything I desired. After my first test drive around the neighborhood, I picked up the phone and called my friends. I couldn't wait to show off my new car. With a quick thank you and a hug for my parents, I sprinted out the door. Hearing a faint be careful from my mom in the background, I slammed the front door and raced to my car.…
