Reflective Essay: All I Ve Known As An Afghan

All I've known is work. Since I was 9, I've been brought to work with my dad on the weekends and throughout the summer to help him fix computers, take inventory, and do whatever he needed me to do. No questions, just respect My dad and I hated it, but it brought food on the table so we kept the complaining to ourselves. Through middle school and high school, work has been the epicenter of my life. I'm tired of working for my dad, and I definitely do not want to end up taking up the computer business. As an Afghan a good work ethic seems ingrained in my blood, on the other hand education isn't as valued. However, as immigrants in a country in which my parents hope to become more economically successful in, education became much more valued.
