Reestablishment In Shatter Me
Every human searches for a sense of normalcy in themselves and among their societies. While many traits are attainable, some normal are desirable but seemingly out of reach. Shatter Me focuses on the isolated life of a seventeen-year-old girl named Juliette. From birth, Juliette possesses an incredible power that makes her resistant to any person’s touch, wherein they die in an immense pain when they come in contact with her. Juliette has been imprisoned on behalf of her ‘ailment’ for the majority of her young life, and with the help of a few characters along the way is just learning how to fight back the dystopian government that has kept her prisoner, In this journal, I will be predicting future events in the series, evaluating Juliette’s …show more content…
There are more than a few critics of the Reestablishment’s plan for a dystopian government and regional domination: “The Reestablishment promised they would fix things. Juliette would not have been able to escape imprisonment without Adam’s help and is grateful to him for saving her, but it all seems questionable when they declare their love for each other after only knowing the other person for three short weeks. It is obvious that Juliette is desperate to be able to touch another human and for someone to know what she feels: “Something in my joints aches with an acute yearning, a desperate need I’ve never been able to fulfill. My bones are begging for something I cannot allow” (Mafi 37). Adam is the perfect outlet for all of Juliette’s wants and needs. He is some how able to touch her and with that she clings to him because that is all she wants in life. The problem with their relationship is the fact that they barely know each other or themselves. They are just teenagers and they have already run away together and been put in life threatening situations all because of their definite love. Though they may see each other as their soul mates, it is never a good idea to rush into something questionably serious with someone whose intentions are barely

Although all wars are conflicts, not all conflicts are wars. Conflicts don’t always have the involvement of armed hostiles, battles or even the involvement of the military. Conflicts can range from anything as little as an argument between politicians, all the up to an official war. Many people believe since World War 2 there have been less conflicts; however there has simply been less conflicts between nations and more within nations. One of the biggest reasons for this is that 90% of countries are made up of different ethnic groups and cultural groups. Some people do not like different types of people in their country which leads to conflict.…
