ABSTRACT

All the user-friendly services require technologies that enable communication between people and objects in close proximity. As electronic devices become smaller, lower in power requirements, and less expensive, we have begun to adorn our bodies with personal information and communication appliances. Such devices include cellular phones, personal digital assistants (PDA’s), pagers and many more. This report describes a human area networking technology that enables communication by touching, a technology called RedTacton. Human area networking technology for communication between mobile terminals and between terminals that are embedded in the environment has become important. When cables are used for communication between terminals, the routing of the cables is clearly inconvenient. Wired connections between electronic devices in human area networks are cumbersome and can easily become entangled. Short-range wireless communication systems such as Bluetooth and wireless local area networks have some problems.
Throughput is reduced by packet collisions in crowded spaces such as meeting rooms and auditoriums filled with people and communication is not secure because signals can be intercepted. Technology for solving such problems includes the use of the person body as a signal path for communication. A transmission path is formed automatically when a person comes into contact with a device and communication between mobile terminals begins.

The technology is very productive when used in the workplace, as employees are able to access the required information for their respective jobs and at the time they require such information. It enables the field and remote workers to connect as soon as they reach at workplace. Since individuals stay in network connection, they are able to enter official information while moving (Paul-Lin, 2004). In this way it facilitates the productivity of employees at the workplace and thus enabling the organization to achieve their set objectives and missions to the public. Installation of wireless technology in the workplace gives the employees the freedom to move anywhere and anytime at their place of work or in a multi building while…

The foundation of any network is some sort of pathway for digital data (bits) to move back and forth between connected agents. Cables, ranging from coaxial to optical, have long dominated this realm. However, wireless is increasingly emerging as a viable alternative to direct physical connection (Stanford University, 2003). Wireless includes many various mediums such as AM, FM, HD and SiriusXM radio. Broadcast and satellite TV, and most, if not all, internet access and cellphones, are now wireless.…
