I. Attention Material A. Have anyone in here watched a Reality TV show or has heard of one? II. Orienting Material A. Reality TV shows are very popular and are watched all over the world. B. Today, we are going to talk about Reality TV shows.

BODY
I. It’s been said that the first Reality TV show started in 1948. A. Some say that the first show was Candid Camera. B. Some say it was “This is Your Life”. C. Some even say it was “An American Family” according to TV GUIDE, but no matter which one was first there are many now. II. In late 89 and beginning of the 90’s the show COPS came on the scene. A. Real people real arrest. III. In about 92 came The Real World. A. Who could forget MTV! IV. Reality TV shows in 2000. A. In 2000 there was Big Brother and Survivor. B. After that there were more Reality TV shows to come.

CONCLUSION
I. Summary A. There are so many Reality TV shows whether a person has watched or heard of them or not. II. Clincher A. Some Reality TV shows may be bad, exploiting people in nasty ways, but some are good. This is true of all kinds of television shows, from soap operas, to comedy and new shows. No matter what someone thinks of a Reality TV show; they are here, they are popular and they don’t seem to be going away soon. There are many Reality TV shows.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians is a reality television show that has aired on E! for the past seven years. It has filmed eight seasons focusing on the lives of the Kardashian and Jenner families. The reality show focuses on both the private and professional lives of the Kardashian sisters Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe, with additional emphasis on their brother Robert, mother Kris, stepfather Bruce (Robert Kardashian passed away before the show aired and Kris got remarried to Bruce), and half siblings Kendall and Kylie. As the seasons progressed their boyfriends, friends, and coworkers all became a big part of the show. This included people such as Kourtney’s boyfriend Scott Disick, her two kids Mason and Penelope, Khloe’s husband Lamar Odom, Kim’s best friend Jonathan and Bruce’s other kids Brandon and Brody. Although well known for many arbitrary reasons, their show is focused on the success and numerous businesses of the family, along with all the drama that comes with being famous. In the beginning the Kardashian sisters owned a boutique in California called D-A-S-H, and now have progressed into multi-million dollar celebrities. Their whole family has become very successful in both the business and fashion worlds, from owning restaurants, being models, and having their own talk shows, to being designers and having their own various fashion lines, they have done it all. Often criticized for being “famous for being famous” they are repeatedly questioned if they would be this successful without their money and fame for no particularly gifted reason. Through all the drama and catfights, the show tries to make the main focus that they are a family that truly loves each other and will always have each other’s backs. In this particular episode Kim is about to have her baby with Kanye West, so her mom, Kris, offers for them to live in her house so Kim and the baby can be taken care of. Sitcoms and dramas both have the same purpose, and that is to entertain. The way conflict matters are portrayed between the two on the other hand is very different. Sitcoms generally portray conflict situations in a comedic manner while dramas are much more serious and/or realistic. Dramas also tend to be more character driven while sitcoms are more plot driven. I can remember when I was younger, coming home from school into the house to change clothes and head back out the door to play. Any entertainment I received was what I experienced outside.
