Railroad Crossing Essay
Before I doing this Essay I didn’t know that much about Railroad crossings so I am really happy I got to do this essay so I could learn more about it. Railroad crossing can be a very dangerous area. To make sure it’s not dangerous and is very safe to cross you should follow these rules. First off you need to take railroad crossing very serious. Always slow down when coming to a railroad crossing and when you stop you need to be 15 to 50 feet away from the nearest rail. Trains are required to sound their horns when approaching crossings so to be safe you should lower the volume in your car radio. When approaching a railroad crossing and you see a blinking light then stop and wait. If it seems the light is broken and just repeatedly blinking then you can cautiously cross only if it is clear at least 1 mile away from both sides. Also never cross when gate is lowered. Never go under or around gates.

The signs will be either white or yellow will two letter R’s one R on the left side and the other on the right side. There will be a long x in the middle of the sign will the two R’s on the sides. It can have lights, bells, and a gate. They are found on public crossings. If there is more than one track then their will be a number under it indicating how many there are.
