The majority race in the U.S. until present has been Caucasian with ancestral roots from Europe, such as Britain France, Spain, and Germany. Being the "first" Americans were the Native Americans but when English settlers and Europeans began coming into America so did the Native Americans become the minority.

Other notable races in history include Hispanic, and African Americans. Hispanics derived from Mexico, Puerto Rico, and some from Cuba. While African Americans Ancestral upbringing into the U.S. was from Nigeria, Niger, Gambia and many more. Although many Mexican Americans were allowed more freedoms while still being discriminated against the African Americans ancestors were forced here. Both becoming a percentage of our country in the mid 1800 's Laws intended to discriminate Latino 's and African 's cultures consisted of unfair unjust laws like Restriction to land and denial to "mix" bloods. Far worse being for African culture had many discriminatory laws like they could not marry or meet a free African. Could not possess weapons or liquor, had curfews and could not testify unless it was against another slave. At the time these were considered "slave code".

Laws such as Civil Rights Act, Employment and Disability Discrimination Act Defined new ways to prevent public, and institutional discrimination. Civil Rights Act was aimed to diminish discrimination of race, ethnic, gender and in turn allowed opportunities such as removing segregation opened voting, and banned discrimination. These laws are adequate and help to diminish discrimination but only time to let society as whole change by becoming more diverse and tolerable of culture will the discrimination truly come to a halt.

Throughout most of U.S. history, in most locations, the majority race has been White/Caucasian according to the (US Census) 72% of the population were White, the ancestry is primarily of European decent including Germany, Ireland, England, Italy, Scandinavia, and Poland, with some in the Middle East and North Africa. The highest population of the White race is in the Midwestern states. I believe that the longer your ancestors live in America the degree of mixed heritage, will become increased, because of interracial marriages, and births. Some of the larger races in US history are Native Americans, until the White settlers moved into the area in the 15th Century. Hispanic/Latino is of no particular race their ancestry is of Latin America, this race in the US was around the 15th Century, Asian and Pacific Islanders are of Far East, Southeast Asia, and Pacific Islands. Several laws were in place that specifically singled out certain Ethnic groups, some examples, (Jim Crow laws) primarily targeted Blacks. (The Civil Rights amendment) put an end to the 100-year law. (The Page Act of 1875) targeted the Asian race.…

Of those minority groups, the Native American people had roots from Northeast Asia by most genetic accounts from a single ancestry (Smith, Jacobsson, & Crawford, Native Americans Descended From A Single Ancestral Group, DNA Study Confirms, 2009).Hispanics and Latinos were generally from North and South America, and even parts of Europe (Spain and Portugal). Blacks are generally from Africa, and the West Indies (whose people can also trace their ancestry back to Africa). Blacks had been notable minorities in this country for centuries, since the beginning of slavery. Hispanics and Latinos became a significant minority in the latter half of the 20th Century as more people immigrated from Mexico and South…

In the late 15th century Columbus encountered African Americans which was a factor to how the race was invented. The race was set by a system of rules and a hierarchy where people were set on a scale depending on their race. The color of people's skin and their cultural beliefs are what set up the idea of race. Race in the American West was based off certain rights and if the people in the American West during this time weren’t considered fully white they were discriminated in American societies. The race is looked upon differently in many parts of the world. The American West compares to racism around other parts of the world based on the social hierarchy of racial status.…
