Questioning Evangelism, By Randy Newman

The book, Questioning Evangelism, is about sharing the gospel with others in a way that will create conversations instead of arguments and Randy Newman is able accomplishes this in his dialoguing throughout the book. This book is a monograph on evangelism and delves into ways a person is able to evangelise without a step-by-step process. Randy Newman starts the book with a style of evangelism that responds to the unbeliever’s questions with a question instead of an answer. By doing this a person is prone to listen more to the other person and avoids having to try answer questions that they have no answer to answer at the time. This style comes from the Jewish culture and how they speak to each other. Jesus himself used it on more than one occasion when He spoke to people where they be teachers of the law or simply people on the street (29).
It is important to avoid an argument when trying to spread the gospel because all an argument brings is destruction and can harden an unbeliever’s heart. Next to recognize a fool because they may just be trying to start an argument in which case it may take time for the other person to be interested in what is true. Then remember the person that is an unbeliever has feelings and a life and treat them as such because that is when the believer’s actions and tongue are important. This is the time where the unbeliever will decide if he wants to hear what the believer has to say or
