Qcf Level 3 Unit 1 M1
Experiment M1 was designed to familiarize us with how to take measurements with motion sensors, inferring graph such as time vs velocity and time vs position, and differentiating random and systematic error in an experiment. During activity 1 we begun by standing in front of motion sensor at a distance of 1.2 meters and varied our distance by 0.6 meters over the course of 25 seconds. This activity presented us with a position vs time graph that we were supposed to replicate to our best ability. For activity 2 we are given a position vs time to replicate and after replication a velocity vs time graph is created below. The graph showed that, though the position raises, evens out, and then returns to initial position; the velocity spiked positively, dropped negatively, and then evened out. During activity 3 we discussed the terms average value, random errors, systematic errors, accuracy, precision, and standard deviation. Using the equations provided in the text, we are able to calculate the average value and the standard deviation using the average value of both trails. After both calculations on each trial we were able to come to the conclusion that, increasing the range of results ultimately increased the standard deviation and random errors. The increase in standard deviation and random error lowered the accuracy of the trial. Theoretically, by closing our eyes in trial two there should have be an increase in standard deviation, random error, and a lower accuracy; in our results however, the second trial had a .000044 lower standard …show more content…
Systematic error was not evident in these trial but we were taught that they occur when the machine testing the variation incorrectly records data, or if the temperature in the area of testing is too lower, thus interfering with the speed of

The company you work for makes filters for kidney dialysis machines. Several shipments of filters do not meet U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards. Since they do not properly filter the kidneys, they cannot be sold in the United States. In order to at least partially offset the cost of production, the company decides to sell these filters in certain Third World countries where the standards are not as stringent. If your last name has a total of 6 or less letters in it, state why the company has the legal and ethical right to sell these filters in Third World Countries. If your last name has a total of 7 or more letters in it, state why the company should not sell the filters in a Third World country, on legal and ethical grounds.…

These are reviewed regularly to ensure they are relevant and correctly assessed. All staff are trained in Infection control and food safety, and daily check lists are completed for cleaning and housekeeping duties which are performed by all staff and audited by team leaders on a weekly basis. Only staff that have reached a predetermined level of training are then allowed to continue on to be trained in the administration of medications to ensure that they carry out the task safely and correctly; this extends to accounting for errors and discrepancies, all of which are investigated and staff may be suspended from dispensing medications in this time and will need to go through further competency assessments prior to recommencing these duties. All of this help us to meet the required outcome of the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety (in particular, outcomes 7 to…

One concern for twins placed in the same classroom is that they will not make friends or learn how to interact with others; so twins are separated. Jamison J. Grime Interviewed several sets of twin and found that they all thought it important to have social and peer-interaction with others (90). The twins all knew that they needed to make other friends. However, when twins are separated before they are ready, they will often experience negative emotions such as sadness and loneliness which can impede the twins’ ability to make friends (Grime, iii). Negative emotions can cause a child to react irrationally. Other children will see and feel the effect of the negative emotions that a separation could cause, which would, in turn, result in those…
