Punta Cana Research Paper
The Best Trip The best trip I have ever went on was when my family and I went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. My aunt was getting married and my mom’s side of the family was invited to come. We got to go on this vacation last February. We left very early one morning and we went to the airport. It was very cold and the air was very dry. We got to the airport in Sioux Falls and we went through security and waited to get on the plane. Once we finally got on the plane I was very excited to get there. We had a connection in Minneapolis and we had a direct flight from Minneapolis all the way to Punta Cana. Once we finally got to Punta Cana, we were getting off the plane and I could feel the humid, warm air. We had to wait in a very long line to go through customs. After that, we got on a taxi that took us to our resort. The roads in the Dominican Republic are not much different from the roads in the U.S. They still had stop lights, billboards, and the same traffic rules. One big difference we saw on the way to the …show more content…
The room was very bright and felt very tropical. Once we got unpacked, we went down to the beach and ate lunch. After lunch, we saw two of my aunts and their families. Then, we went swimming in the ocean, the pools and laid on the beach. By supper time everyone had arrived. We spent most of our days eating together, swimming, playing beach volleyball, and laying on the beach. I got to spend my birthday in Punta Cana and I got to go on a catamaran, on a banana boat tube pulled by a boat with my cousins, and we had a special dinner at the Italian restaurant on the resort for me. My family and I were also there for the Super Bowl. They had a huge inflatable screen that they projected the game on. They had huge buffet of food and workers on the resort dressed like football players. My brother and my dad are Denver Broncos fans, so they were very happy with the result of the

Several summers ago, shortly after I graduated 6th grade, my mother and I took the pilgrimage that all East Coasters with a week of free time and a fresh passport must take. By this, of course, I refer to seven days of good old fun-in-the-sun in a Caribbean resort. Like many other families, we had planned to go directly to the resort town of Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, until our flight back to New York departed a week later. And so it was, for several days at least. But lazy afternoons and evenings on the beach can become stale after a while. It was pleasant, for sure, but not stimulating. Punta Cana hadn’t captured my attention as the bright lights of Hong Kong or the ancient history of London had. There was no local flair, nothing…

Costa Rican food is much different than the foods indignant to America. My dinners and lunches consist of mostly meat. Steaks, ham, pork, and fish make up most of my diet, but that is different in Costa Rica. Costa Rican dinners and lunches consist of many different types of vegetables, rice, fruits, and a small portion of meat with little spices. I think this is very interesting because this means that Costa Ricans have a very widespread diet containing balanced portions of meats, vegetables, and fruits. This makes me want to broaden my horizons when it comes to food so I am able to have a healthy amount of each food type.…

It was the first time I had ever been to Reynosa, Mexico, and I was very excited as well as nervous about the trip. I planted a church in Texas and arranged to take a time of five people to go and build two houses. None of us spoke the language and would be completely dependent upon our interpreter for all communication. We were really not fully prepared for the amount of poverty we encountered just below the boarder of Mexico and America. The shanty town had no running water as well is little electrical power, it was like being thrown back in time.…
