Psychology in dentistry
Before I discus the relationship between the psychology and dentistry, we should firstly define the psychology and dentistry as separated sciences. The psychology is studying of human behavior. It is divided into two parts; psych: sole and logy: study. Psychology is not only an academic science that is used by only specific experts but also may be used by normal people. Those people who are old and wise they also psychologists even they don’t had an academic education but they live enough time to know the right from wrong as they life is the best school. Dentistry, basically, is the branch of medicine that is involved in the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity. As we see, dentists are dealing with human being, so that put them in a very crucial situation, and effort them heavy responsibility because any mistake in dealing with patents will lead to many mistakes which may affect both of them, so the dentist should be qualified with psychological skills which will help him/her to deal with patents in the proper way. Firstly, the importance of psychology in dentistry is defiantly in taking care of the patents since they are humans. Also, there are different kinds of people (patients) with different ages, so the dentist has to be very friendly and careful in dealing with patients to warranty the success of the treatment. Secondly, that also reflect in the dentist's benefits because, if the dentist know how to deal with his patent, that will increase his profits because patents are also customers. They will chose the dentist who knows how dentist should do his job as their permanent dentist and, they will recommend him to other people.
