Children are admitted into the Foundation Unit on a part time basis from the age of 3 years. You may put your child’s name down for a place any time before this age by calling into the school and completing an admission form. Children are then accepted into the Foundation Unit in strict birthday order until all the available places are filled. Before admission we will contact you and make arrangements for you to visit the school with your child. We also arrange information meetings for parents to explain our routines and the way we teach the children. Home visits by staff will be arranged at this visit. for a full time school place through Rotherham Council’s Education Admissions Office.

An application pack will be sent to your home address in the autumn term of the year before your child is due to start school. You should complete the form and return it to the Education Office stating your preference of schools. RMBC will then inform you at which school your child has been offered a place based on the admission criteria and the number of places at the school. Children wishing to enter the school at times other than at the beginning of their school career must complete both an admission form and transfer form and return them to school. Children will then be admitted to the school providing that the recommended admission limit of that year group will not be exceeded.

Children who attend the foundation unit part time do not automatically get a place at the school. Parents must apply
