EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Interloop Pvt company is a medium-sized utility company that is
presently evaluating the extension of natural gas service to a residential development near
Galena, Illinois. Part of the proposed gas-line siting project includes the anticipated construction of five miles of pipeline through a remote area of rough terrain. The AffiliatedResearch Center (ARC) project between WP&L and the University of Wisconsin-Madison,
Environmental Remote Sensing Center (UW/ERSC) was designed to determine best-route
options through this area.
