The purpose of this process recording was to offer patient support. The intent of this session was to offer companionship and build a relationship with this client. Reminiscing, on the previous session that the student had with this client we briefly discussion her relationship with her family members that live in New York. During this conversation, the client explained how her niece promised on several occasions to come visit but never showed up until this week. During this session we discussed how the husband felt toward her niece coming from New York.
This session begin with the student arriving at the clients house and walking upstairs into the client’s bedroom. Death anxiety is normal many people are afraid of this permanent transition. The reason being is that it is a fear of the unknown, unless you are religious person then you would have a different perspective on dying. As the client was trying to explain her fear she seems as though she knew what she wanted to say but just couldn’t force herself to face her reality. As the student, I listened and explain to her that everyone get scared and it is normal and reassured her that I was there offer support to her during this time.
