On this day we were presented with multiple opportunities to start our journey of obtaining a better understanding of the Reggio philosophy and their infant/toddler centers and preschools. The first experience we had this day was being introduced to Sarah and Paula, were we got a brief overview of everything we will be learning about during our two weeks at the Loris Malaguzzi Center and schools. Following our brief introductions and overview we went on a tour with two of the atelieristas, Federica and Marco, in the Ray of Light atelier. During this time, we were able to see examples of ways that light has been explored by children in the infant/toddler centers and preschools.     I observed a child throwing a fit at the mall the other day. This child did not want to leave the store and did not want to get into her stroller. She started to throw her head back and scream very loudly. Then she would throw her arms around and kick, in an attempt to not be strapped in.
