Pre And Post Socratic Seminar Reflection
What is this....

This is a picture of a pre and post Socratic Seminar reflection. The front includes some of the goals I had for myself during the Socratic Seminar. Also some notes I had about the opening question and what I achieved during the Seminar. The second picture is includes what happened after the Socratic Seminar which includes, how I assessed myself and a small paragraph about what questions I still had, who brought up interesting points, and what questions I had that were answered. For the Socratic Seminar on 3/14/17 I want to try to refer more to the text rather than bold state something that may or may not be true. Also, I wasn't to ask questions instead of always trying to find an answer. On my YOIG Bookmark I asked a lot of

The Socratic Seminar was an educational and enlightening experience. Before the day of the seminar I was a bit apprehensive and was not sure whether the class, or I for that matter, would participate much or learn much. After the class I felt great about the experience and learned a lot, it was good to have a conversation with my fellow classmates about the story in a relaxed atmosphere. I was confused on several aspects of the story and wanted to discuss several topics such as Dexter’s motives during his attempted journey into Judy’s heart. Overall I felt that the Socratic Seminar was a great experience and I learned more about the story than I initially had by simply reading it.…

Us humans use a lot of fuels during the day, food fuels and mechanical fuels. Each gives us energy to power through the day, mechanical fuels to cars and food fuels to our bodies. When being compared they have some similarities and differences. But exactly how different? So comparing us to a car, we aren’t so different. No, this essay does not allow you to start drinking gas, but it may want you to start rethinking your eating pattern.…

Last year, I has Mrs. Sulzbach for English 9 Honors and my favorite thing about her class was probably the people who were in it. Most of the people in my class were very animated and talkative, so they made class discussions fun. Most of the time I find class discussions to be boring and after talking for a while, the conversation normally dies down or people are just repeating the same ideas in different wording, but that never really happened in Mrs. Sulzbach's class. Socratic Seminars were especially fun because the conversation never stopped and a lot of interesting viewpoints were brought up, even if we sometimes strayed onto the weirdest tangents.…

My former English professor would always say “find a way 101”, whenever a student found themselves struggling in her class. At first I did not understand why she was so rude to her students, this was until after I graduated high school when I realized I was wrong. She was not rude, she was not mean, she was preparing her students for college level English classes. Reflecting on my past encounter with the toughest teacher at my former high school, I can say I feel prepared for a college level class. Although I may have taken the most rigorous class in high school, that does not mean I am expected to pass without falling short. However, I am certain that I am ready for the challenges that my professor will assign me in the fall.…
