PQASSO (Practical Quality Assurance System for Social Organizations)
PQASSO (Practical Quality Assurance System for Social Organizations) is a straight forward, user-friendly quality assurance system intended to help run organizations more effectively and efficiently. It offers a flexible approach to quality which allows organizations to work at their own pace. It helps organizations take a systematic look at what they do, identify areas where they are doing well and not so well, and decide exactly where improvements are needed. It helps organizations plan, budget and allocate the resources for making these improvements over a realistic time period. (A DFI brief guide to understanding “PQASSO”)
PQASSO is an ‘off-the-shelf’ quality assurance system. First developed in 1997, it was designed specifically for use within voluntary and community sector organizations, and is now in its third edition. It provides a step-by-step approach to working out what an organization is doing well and what could be improved. PQASSO was specifically designed for the voluntary and community sector by Charities Evaluation Services (CES). PQASSO can be used by all types and size of third sector organization, including charities, social enterprises, community interest companies and community groups. It is a self-assessment tool adaptable to organizations of varying types and sizes. Designed as a work pack, it has 12 quality areas covering all aspects of what you do. There is no cost other than buying the workbook. An optional external certification service is also available. (Quality selector)
Charities are set to review each others ' effectiveness as part of an initiative to gain a new quality mark that will validate the organization’s viability. The move is part of an expansion to Charities Evaluation Services’ PQASSO tool, which is used by thousands of charities to
