Q.1 Identify typical graduate selection processes and evaluate your own strengths and weaknesses in the process of applying for a job

The trends of available graduate ready to enter in the job market are increasing rapidly. Employers are concern of skills and work experiences which will make a graduate stand out from the crowd.
Typical Selection Process

The benefits selection techniques offer are:

Reduction of cost by recruiting and training suitable candidate.
Employers can predict potential job candidate in a fairer and accurate way.
To recruit the best staff in a competitive world.
Employers can manage large number of applications received.
To ensure ideal matching between values, ethos and skills need an organisation and job candidates.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths: The strengths employers are looking from a potential candidate are Technical skills, Soft skills and Personal skills.
Technical skills can be achieved by education, and some knowledge-based skills such computer skills, other languages proficiency, additional and special training undertaken, technical qualifications, etc.
Soft skills can be acquired from past experience in different fields, such as people management skills, conflict managing skills, analytical skills, planning and organizational skills, etc.
Personal skills are individual`s inbuilt talent and skills, such as friendliness, dependability, good team worker, deadline oriented, etc.
Weaknesses: Usually, there is no candidate who really wants to own up on their weak points. However, by putting correctly weaknesses too can be strengths. Therefore, I must back-up both my strengths and weaknesses with real-life examples.
