Please Don T Drink By John Jaman Analysis
1. Hold On: Chord Overstreet In my movie, the Colonel ends up passing away from an illness he kept from his family. As he starts to fade away this song starts to play. “Hold on, I still want you, come back, I still need you.” those words correlate to Jamie’s thoughts as the Colonel starts to die.
2. Please Don’t Go: Joel Adams This song would start to play as the Dexter family walks into the airport to drop off TJ. Jamie doesn’t want him to leave, so she cries and starts to cling onto him. I picked this song because it says, “Please don't go, oh no.I think of you whenever I'm alone,
So please don't go.” Jamie does want him to leave, fearing the worst could happen to him.
3. Uptown Funk: Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars This song would

Cheap Thrills: Sia feat. Sean Paul The song plays as Jamie and Cindy dance around Cindy’s bedroom. Jamie tries to take Cindy’s mind off the huge argument she had with her mom. I chose this song because cheap thrills are minor things done for short enjoyment. Jamie dancing with Cindy is something that gives Cindy short enjoyment and distracts her from her thoughts.
5. Unsteady: X-Ambassadors This song plays as Jamie holds a sobbing Cindy after getting a text from her about wanting to relapse. The song was chosen because it says,”Hold, hold on, hold onto me cause I’m a little unsteady.” In this scene, Cindy is not in a stable state and wants to be held and not released.
6. Wide Awake: Katy Perry (Alex G acoustic piano cover) The song starts to play as Jamie looks through the flash drives TJ sent her and realizes that the wear isn’t as cool at as she thought it was. “This song in particular is a dose of reality,” words said by Katy Perry about Wide Awake. Jamie receives a dose of reality once she understands how real and cruel the war truly

The song would begin to play as clips of TJ are shown as he is held hostage and his release. He a hostage survivor.
8. Never Forget You: Zara Larsson feat. MNEK The beginning of this song starts to play as Cindy goes through old photos of Mark and her after finding out he was KIA. The song was picked because it says, “I used to be so happy, but without here I feel so low. I watched you as you left but I can never seem to let you go.” Mark brought her happiness on the worst days and made everything better. Even though she watched Mark leave she can’t let him out of her heart.
9. History: Lauren Alaina This song plays as troops begin to start fighting. The song fits the scene because it’s about battling and giving it your all which is what happens in this scene as the troops fight with all they have.
10. Wild Things: Alessia Cara This song was chosen because it describes Jamie’s personality. Jamie isn’t your typical girl of this time period. She likes to plays football and wants to enlist in wars. The song I picked is about being unique, and not really fitting in with the status quo.
11. Halo: Beyonce (Madilyn Bailey piano cover music

The initial track on the album is Barnes' rendition of the chilling "The End of November, 1963," which evokes the fear and disillusionment people felt when they heard the news that JFK had been assassinated. "Kennedy's death," says Barnes, "was a powerful international event, but back then it seemed to touch all of us personally." Besides the initial track, Barnes sings "When the News Came Through," "The Golden Cup," "The Day Jack Kennedy Died," "I Got My Dreams Just Like You, "He Was Born to Live," and…

Kanye West made the song not to entertain audience but to share his opinions and educate them . The scene in the cartoon is a metaphor criticizing people dreaming about money endlessly and passing bad habits to their kid. Thus, this song is not only a great song in terms of its rhyme and lyrics, but more importantly its conducts Kanye’s opinions…

This and the use of incorrect grammer, so common to rebellious teenagers, helps portray the message of the song, which is that today’s youth are prisoners of the older generations society, which alienate the younger generation and instead of looking for support and comfort, they thrive to rebel against these rules and law enforcement bodies, with the institution of society having no effect on the younger generation as they don’t comply and don’t want to reform. This creates the younger generations culture, arguing they are their own society.…

The next character that adds a song to the soundtrack is Bennet Omalu. Bennett is a fiery doctor who was opposing the NFL, on the side of safety for the players. He didn’t care if people were talking down on him or trying to disprove his research, he just keep his head high and pushed through. A song that resembles his personality is called “Not Afraid” by Eminem. The first line pretty much sums up not just the song but “I’m not afraid...to take a stand”…

That is one of the problems with the world today. Society has grown so accustomed to things like big, rich music and luxurious technology that they feel like they need impressive things. This song is a reminder that to live a great life, sometimes the simple things matter the…

Number ten: “In The Aeroplane Over The Sea” by Neutral Milk Hotel. I adore the soft indie vibe that Neutral Milk Hotel has. They create the kind of songs that people listen to laying under the stars reminiscing on lost love and old friends. “In The Aeroplane Over The Sea” is about life and how short it is, and how we need to appreciate the beautiful things before it’s too late. “…and one day we will die and our ashes will fly from the aeroplane over the sea, but for now we are young let us lay in the sun and count every beautiful thing we can see.…

Cherry Valance from S.E. Hinton’s Outsiders seems to have a perfect life, she is perceived as being stuck up and snobby, the way she is judged is best represented by Common People by Pulp. This song represents the way Cherry is judged because as the lyrics state that “I want to live like common people do”. These lyrics show that the artist is looking down on common people showing how they are above them in power, wealth, and fame. Also, the lyrics show how that they just want to lead a life of an average person.…
