Planned Parenthood not only provides healthcare to women who have health care available outside of just Planned Parenthood, but it provides healthcare to millions of women all across the country, and all across the world, who have no other place that they can receive health care. It is simply a matter of fact that if Planned Parenthood centers stopped receiving compensation and were forced to shut down that thousands, perhaps millions,of people would lose the only place that they can always rely on to help keep them healthy. A quote from “The Impact of Defunding Planned Parenthood” states that, “If extreme politicians shut down Planned Parenthood, 2.5 million patients would lose access to care. Here’s the breakdown: Approximately 60% of Planned Parenthood’s patients access health care at its centers through publicly funded programs like Medicaid or Title X. The simple answer here is, blatantly, no, they can not. Even if other reproductive health centers were to aid in helping pick up the patients that came from Planned Parenthood being defunded, no reproductive health care center would be able to make up for the loss that defunding Planned Parenthood would make.
