My performance during my first college years was not outstanding and I do not want to excuse myself, rather, to give you explanations as to why the unsatisfactory grades and probably have a chance to receive an interview.

How you address a patient throughout the duration of their visit can have a significant impact on the quality of their appointment. Being a medical assistant requires not only medical knowledge but a significant amount of social skills as well – making the patient feel important and respected is essential to having return clients. While greeting the patient by name is imperative, finding out the patient’s preferred title will help them feel more comfortable and improve the patient-assistant relationship. For example, a woman named Jennifer Smith could be referred to as Ms. Smith, Jennifer, or perhaps a nickname such as Jenny; whatever the patient favors should be used frequently to reaffirm a personal relationship between them and the medical…

However, I had an exam in all three of my classes the week before taking my MCAT. I did not have the opportunity to explain during my interview, but I ran out of time during the second section, CARS, and had to guess on 21 questions for a section that was my best during practice tests. This may have effected my mindset when completing the rest of the test, and I know I could have earned a score worthwhile if I did not get fixated on a passage I should have skipped. I do not address my inconsistencies to provide excuses, but I hope to allow a picture of my situation to be seen. I am very thankful for the opportunity to be considered for admissions, and I will provide my recent volunteer experiences when I have the time to write about what they mean to me. I was chosen to volunteer with the SSTRIDE program in the fall and continue to serve in it now as I have seen the potential impact to be made in the lives of our local community. As a result, I made the conscious effort to work with the minority students on campus and accepted the position as a Resident Program Assistant for the EOF program. I worked with a diverse population of students where the majority came from low-income communities who had the potential to perform college level coursework. While…
