Coca cola’s tools - SWOT
There is a strong relationship between organisational resources and organisational capabilities, value chain analysis, SWOT analysis and strategic competiveness. By conducting a value chain analysis and determining organisational resources and capabilities, it is possible to establish the core competencies of the organisation. These organisational core competencies may result in competitive advantages for the organisation and this will help determine and establish the organisation’s effective strategies. From this paragraph I would say those mention above are some of the tools that an organisation may use to ensure competitive success. Below are some of the tools that Coca-cola used to ensure its competiveness and these include the SWOT analysis, value chain analysis, porters 5 model (Tapke, 2001).
SWOT analysis is an acronym for strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and it provides a framework for analysing these elements in the organisations internal and external environment (Ehlers & Lanzenby, 2009).
Strength this refers to a resource capability that the organisation has that is an advantage relative to what competitors has. Below are the strengths of the coca cola company: * Have the world’s most valuable brand and a strong brand loyalty. According to Inter brand, The Coca Cola Company is the most valued ($77,839 billion) brand in the world. * Coke is the dominant leader market leader of the global soft drink industry. World’s largest market share in beverage. Coca Cola holds the largest beverage market share in the world of about 40%. * It has an enormous number of loyal customers and brand equity all over the world * The company’s joint venture with nestle has resulted in the information of beverage [partners worldwide. * Coke primarily competes on advertising and differentiation its Strong marketing and advertising strategy has increased the firm’s sales and brand recognition especially in 2012.
