Persuasive Speech: My Fellow Strong And Courageous Athenian
My fellow strong, and courageous Athenians, I have come to you all in the assembly to propose a solution that would help our city-state. I propose the following to the assembly. I believe that women should be able to be considered citizens, to attend an assembly, and have the same rights you all have. Before you all start to whisper among yourselves and go against my statement, just think about what it would mean if the women were considered citizens in our city-state. We would be so much powerful, and that’s because the women if they had an education they would be able to help us make the right choices. Therefore it would give this city-state power and making us the strongest, in strategy wise. Also if you think about it after what happened …show more content…
But if you look to the powerful, great, wise, and beautiful Athena who created the flute, who created the pot, who created the ship, who also created the chariot, and was also the favorite child of Zeus. Athena was a woman and was even allowed to use Zeus’s thunderbolt! For crying out loud can you all see that woman are also the symbol of Athens because of Athena. Now can you see that Athena was helpful, intelligent and after all she was a woman. I’m sure that she would want the same thing I’m telling you, that all to let woman be citizens. Athena was brilliant in battle and won against Ares the god of war in battle twice, not once but twice. Again let me remind you SHE WAS A WOMAN!!! Athena was so wise and smart because of her strategies she beat Ares twice! Our elders the wises among us, look up to Athena and worship her, can you start to get the message. We will need woman after what happened between us and the Spartans, and the Persians.
Now please consider the following and think about my proposal for woman to be considered citizens and have the rights that you all have. If we all have loyalty and intelligence we can drive our city-state to it’s fullest potential and glory. Let the great powerful and wise gods drive you all of you to make the best decision and vote for this
