An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States fir various types of testing. These animals are used for scientific and commercial testing to develop medical treatments, determine toxicity of medications and chemicals, check the safety of products destined for human use and other biomedical or healthcare purposes. This testing on animals is cruel, inhumane and should be banned. It should be banned because the animals are held and live in inhumane conditions, it is harmful and at times lethal to the animals and there are other research method available that do not require animal testing.…

The scientific community is for animal testing because they see it that it is better for animals to suffer than humans. Animals greatly advance human medicine which is enough to overlook and justify animal suffering. On the other hand, those who are against testing products on animals see it as cruel. Researchers induce pain on animals, sometimes without the use of anesthetics. However, there is also a grey area where some people support it only under certain circumstances.…

The first reason why we shouldn’t have animal testing is because animals are getting hurt or abused. “Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year.” The chemicals that the people are using are burning or other worse things to them. The chemicals that they use on the animals could hurt or kill them. Over half of side effects cannot be detected in…

Imagine being confined to a cold cage, no bigger than you, without family, or friends, watching, as one by one, your compatriots leaving, but never come back, waiting silently for your turn. Good morning audience of the Federal Youth Parliament, this is what many animals endure before their final moments, tortured, hurt, and isolated. Animal experimenting is a national system of sadistic torture, vivisection, and genocide, which has been carried out for generations under the disguise of “medical research” and definitely must be stopped. The three main reasons for banning this grotesque science are: present experimentation is currently not species specific therefore results are inaccurate, killing for beauty is not worth it, and animals are more useful alive.…

In animal testing, countless animals are experimented on and then killed after their use is up. Some are injured and will still live the remainder of their life in captivity. The doctors will not do anything to help the animals that are in pain that happen to be the reason because of them. It is the aspect of animals testing that many view as a major negative against the practice, as it seems that the animal died in vain because no direct benefit to humans occurred. Even though animals and humans have many things in common like how we both have the same organ system, there are also many things that are different between animals and humans. Many animals cannot handle or take the same medication as humans, most the surgeries that are operated on animals are just too strong for an animal to take so they end up dying or sick for the rest of their lives. It is not morally acceptable for scientists to use live animals in research for medicine that can be used to cure humans. Today we continue to use animals in experiments to learn more about health problems that affect both humans and animals and to ensure the safety of new medical treatments. Now that we know the purpose of animal testing, is it really worth killing millions of innocent animals? This practice is morally wrong and inconsiderate of us for letting this happen. People should stop using animals as experiment subjects and utilize the advance technology that we have now. This is happening because we are letting it happen! We have to start by educating others on this issue because the lack of knowledge on animal testing is why people…

Cosmetic tests performed on animals include dropping chemicals in the animal’s eyes. Animal cruelty is when someone hurts an animal or does not care for an animal responsibly. Animal testing is basically that, so, technically, animal testing is animal abuse. Animals should not be experimented on because the testing is somewhat like torture and they are innocent. Although huge developments have been made with animal testing, about 90% of successful animal testing is not successful when used on humans.…

Many people today can say they love their pet, whether it is a dog, a cat, a rabbit, or fish. Little do we actually think about the animals suffering to the torture of cruel animal testing that goes on behind the scenes of the company’s we love. Maybelline, Head and Shoulders, and Clorox are all companies that test on animals, yet are still supported by the thousands of people that buy and use their products. I believe the main reason people continue to support companies that perform animal testing is because society today is not informed or educated about the severity of animal testing. People do not know or care to research if a company performs animal testing. Besides consumers keeping these companies alive and running, animal testing is not humane or morally right. It has been scientifically proven that animals can to a certain extent feel pain (Tell Me if it Hurts: Investigating Whether Animals Feel Pain by Caroline…

Animal testing has been a topic of debate for many generations. It is difficult to imagine a common house hold pet subjected to extreme procedures of the mildest and painless form to the harshest form imaginable. I am talking about your average mouse, rabbit, cat or dog. At the same time, consumers want to be assured they are using the safest products available, and people want science to find cures for life-threatening diseases. Lately, science has tried to prove out theories and hypnosis through computer algorithms but we still have to rely on physical subjects like the animals referenced. There is no public argument that says we should not test products before entering the market, the debate is the method by which these products should be tested. Animal testing is necessary for biomedical research, but should be eradicated for vanity reasons in terms of cosmetics.…
