Driving is one of the most common jobs that adults and even young kids go through every day. Unfortunately, there are many fatalities on the road every day. These deadly accidents are due to many bad decisions that the driver took. Whether it was reckless, frustration, or the worst, under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, the result of a crash usually ends in a death, and a mourning of a family. What I’m saying, is that the biggest problem today, in our modern era, this present century, is driving while using some kind of drug. The drugs can vary* from prescription, over-the-counter, or even illegal. Drugs impair the senses that are a must-have for driving. These are vision, reaction time, judgment, hearing, and simultaneous tasks that have to be accomplished in order for the car to run smooth (such as looking at the road while turning the blinker on). Even the simplest tasks can be hindered by drugs!
Marijuana can cause bad judgment, slow reaction time, and causes drowsiness so you can’t read signs as good. When you mix marijuana with sedatives, you can start hallucinating and your heart rate can* rise tremendously, along with your anxiety. And if your anxiety rises, then your handling of the vehicle could be outrageous, to the point where something terrifying can happen, and someone can end up hurt. Another common drug is cocaine. Cocaine increases impulsive behavior, we can trigger more risks and more confusing with whoever takes the drug. Cocaine masks the tiredness, seeming like the person still has energy to spare, but the physicality of their body is greatly diminished. Cocaine can be detrimental to one’s health, and if the wrong hands, can turn into a stroke or heart
