Persuasive Essay On Being Homeless

A few years back I remember not knowing or thinking that I would ever be homeless or anything close to it, but life is full of surprises. I lived in Los Angeles, my father had lost his job and felt hopeless in such a big city. As the bills continued to pile up so did my fear of what was going to happen next. After the bills and mortgages were too high we had to leave our entire lives behind and more nice enough to let us stay in their living room. At that moment I had no idea what was going to happen and my family and I lived in fear of doing anything that would overstay our welcome. Luckily over the course of a year my father was able to gather enough money for us to be able to rent a small apartment and from there, things slowly got better
These people have no fault or blame as to why they are in the situation that they are in. People with mental illnesses should be getting help not barely getting by. Some are not mentally capable of making their own decisions and therefore should not be expected to be able to go through life alone with no help. Our homeless veterans also do not deserve what they are going through. These are the men and women who fought for our country and for us. They deserve more respect and help from the country and people they risked their lives for. California has one of the highest numbers of homeless vets in the country reaching approximately fifteen thousand. (Numbers...National).
