When a child is young, their minds are still growing and their personality is starting to come together. However, there are certain pressures that a toy can put on a child. For instance, in the poem "Barbie Doll" the author starts off by describing the toy doll. How barbie dolls cook, clean, and take care of the babies. Then the owner of the doll grows up to be a normal girl, but when puberty hits and the girl starts changing, she is criticized for her big nose and fat legs. Everyday since, she has been feeling pressured due to her classmates bringing up society's expectations for a girl. Girls should only cook, clean, and take care of kids.
