Individual Reflection Project My four personality factors are extraversion, sensing, feeling, and judging. Therefore, my personality type is ESFJ. Generally, people who fall into the ESFJ personality type are friendly, cooperative people who work hard to get their job done. It usually is not very hard for ESFJ’s to work within groups because they tend to get along with most people and are honestly concerned about the welfare of others. Because an ESFJ works best with a job where their helping skills can be appreciated, they tend to work in traditional settings where their service can be practical and personal. Several fields seem to fit the ESFJ personality type best. These include but are not limited to careers in teaching, management, sales, personal services, and care giving. These fields fit an ESFJ because an ESFJ is usually very realistic; they prefer to be upfront and personal with a person than involve themselves with data and other theoretical approaches to problems. Personally, I see myself in the management field; I enjoy being a leader and making the tough decisions that a leader must make. The results are somewhat surprising, mainly because I did not really see myself as someone who would be characterized with the “feeling” personality factor. I do care about others, but I think of myself as a thinker more than one who is overly concerned with the welfare of others. Also, the “extraversion” personality factor was a slight surprise. Honestly, I can be either introverted or extroverted, depending on the time of day or my general mood. However, if I was forced to choose which one I would use to describe myself, I would most likely go with introverted. I am actually very shy and I like to keep to myself, although other people may think otherwise. But apart from that, my self-awareness report was exactly what I expected.
