Personal Statement: Why I Want To Get Out Of High School
I think the reason why they want to get out of high school because it’s stressful and at least when you’re in college you can decide you don’t want to do it anymore and just drop out in high school you don’t have the option. Everyone is expecting you to be great and get good grades, get a scholarship, to know what you what you want to do in your life. So, it’s very stressful because I don’t know about other students, but it’s like being pressured to be the best because you need that scholarship and when you say you don’t want to go to college for whatever reason everyone is shocked and tells you to think twice about it because you’re too young and you don’t know what you're saying. We are pressured to do so much and know so much at this age and this time in our lives. High school is just one big audition for college and if you aren’t auditioning for it everyone looks down on you. For the other stuff yes we get it rules are rules no exception. …show more content…
They look at your experience and if you have the qualifications for the job. Grades don’t determine your intelligence and I think schools shouldn’t even have grades because you don’t really learn anything it’s all about passing to most students. Some students don’t even learn anything because if you're not getting graded on it what's the point. Just because you’re an A student doesn’t mean you will be more successful than a C student. I feel like the reasons why C students are more successful because they don’t worry as much as an A students because it’s all about passing to C students and of course it’s the same for an A student also, but it’s different to them they want the perfect grade C students just want to pass. You can be very smart and earn C’s because like I said it doesn’t determine how smart you

They should look more at the individual and less at the numbers--or letters of the grades. Not everyone has a life that is conducive to academic success. Tell me where is the consideration for homeless kids who may be coming to school from a shelter, or those who can not afford study materials, or the ones dealing with unstable homes, or those who are bullied nonstop yet still have the courage to walk through the doors each morning, or kids who need medication but aren’t receiving it? There are many reasons that a B is an F--and the school can’t assume which one is…

My parents came to this country to work hard and better their lives for my brothers and me. My dad works too hard seven days a week and I look at how tired he is all the time. I want to be able to go to school, pursue my dreams, obtain my dream job and help other people. I am determined to go to college even if there are some setbacks that make harder for me to do so. For example, when I was in 10th grade I found out that I had scoliosis, and the only way that I would be able to treat it was through surgery. At the time that I had found this out, I had already planned out my sophomore year; I was going to take 2 AP classes and 2 math courses above my grade level. At the time I truly believed that I was going to be able to go through the surgery, take all my classes, and very least get decent grades in all my classes, including my AP classes. However, that semester ended up being my worst.…

The reason why I'm in college is because I want a better future for myself and to show my family that I can become somebody one day. Sometimes I would say to myself like “why am I even here? This place is not the place for me “. In other words college is not for everybody because not everyone who lives with their parents who can afford for tuition for college. But for me I realize that staying alone and not doing nothing for me was the biggest mistake I ever made as young adult at the age of nineteen. Soon as I turn 20 I decided that it was time for me to do something that’s going to be right for myself which was working and going to college. The first day of me attending college was amazing meeting new people and getting to know others such as colleagues.…

I had to dig deep for this! Dig deep to figure out what big problems I faced throughout these past years. It wasn't easy for me because I faced many difficulties throughout my life. Then I remember a time in my first 2 years of high school. I was oblivious. Confuse about my future. Whether I wanted to do something after high school. I have to admit school wasn't my priority in freshman year. I wouldn't get the best grade, but they weren't the worst either. All I cared about is having friends. Then something hit me. Seeing all these seniors not graduate on time. Seeing many kids struggle financially after high school. I eventually notice that those who go to college succeed more. Especially being a minority it's extremely difficult to succeed…

I wake up, eager to get to school. As I lay in my bunk bed, I scan the outside world and see the cars. The sun just rose and it's a little chilly outside. It was the 4th or 5th day of 6th grade and today we would choose new instruments for the band. I was considering switching to french horn, but my first pick was the tuba. In elementary school we could only play trumpet, clarinet, or saxophone.…
